Sitting at home this morning and the movie "Urban Legend" just came on, it was made in 1998 (10 years ago) and in the first scene a lady stops for gas and it was $1.19 per gallon!
No 'pay at the pump' card reader. The attendant actually came out to pump gas......
I was horrified!!!
All this to ask, does anyone else realize that pay at the pump and pay in advance pumps that stop on the exact amount has put an end to going over one or two cents when your pumping, say, $20 worth of gas because you couldn't stop on the exact amount?
I'm not saying it's OK to "go over" a couple cents worth when you pumped first but I'm sure it cut into the oil companies profit margins on gas sales, but it has also hurt the gas stations in that not as many people go inside to buy a drink or pack of gum, ect.
I know this isn't news but just something I observed today.
