You are kidding yourself about Insurgents in Iraq wanting to negotiate. They want us to leave so they can take over the country. Al Qaeda had plenty of support before Iraq and will continue to have support from the Muslim world after we leave Iraq. The sooner you accept that, the clearer you will be able to see things.

Yes, the Iraqi resistence is going to take over. It's their country.

Al Qaeda had very little support. At the time of the 9/11 attacks the US reported al Qaeda to be a couple thousand poeple, this out of over a billion Muslims around the world. They were running around the hills of Afghanistan. The average Mulosn or Arab wants no part of their extremism.

But anger and hatred at the US is growing world wide and the occupation has been the best recruiting tool al Qaed ever had. And it dying out before the invasion. Now it's stronger then ever.

Our own intelligence reports have acknowledged it.

Once again you say Iraqi Resistance. The true word is Insurgent. Why would the Iraqi want to fight us when they know all they have to do for us to leave is to pacify to a civilized nation.

The resistance isfighting againstthe illegal occupation of their country. They are the resistance.

There was no civil war going on for the first couple of years and attacks were against the US. If all we are interested in is "pacifying" the nation why didn't we leave then? Why did Bush stall their elections until there were massive demonstrations, lead by Ayatollah Sistani? Why are we allowing the oil companies to take their oil? Why have built permanent bases?

They have offered peace talks and have said they will negotiate and end attacks against us if the US agrees to leaves. Why don't we agree to that?

There is a power struggle going on and the US is backing the Shiites. Why do we have to "Pacify" the nation and stop the civil war? They will fight for a while then come to a peace.

Bush wants the oil and he wants Iran's oil also. It's always been about oil.

We're supposedly a world super-power and we can't "pacify [. . .] a civilized nation." What business are we proving we have there?! At this point, both sides are fighting insurgents, but we've got the added task of fighting the resistance!

For one thing, I can assure you the the FOB's we build in Iraq are a long way from "permanent bases". Also, what oil are the oil companies getting from Iraq? It's all we can do to keep the insurgents from blowing up the well heads. Lastly, if you are naive enough to believe that they will just "stop the attacks if we leave" then I am wasting my time talking to you.
