More violence than now?
Dems burning cities...destroying property...and killing people using the excuse it is over old statues that have been standing over a hundred years...and have never bothered people before....and the death of a useless career criminal.
Those numerous statues have not been standing over a hundred years. A little history for you:
Thirteenth Amendment | 1865 | outlaws slavery |
Fourteenth Amendment | 1868 | grants citizenship and equal civil and legal rights to African Americans and slaves who were emancipated after the American Civil War |
Fifteenth Amendment | 1870 | guarantees that the right to vote cannot be denied based on "race, color, or previous condition of servitude" |
The 'early 1900s' (generally ca. 1900-1919) were OVER 100 years ago. Do the math. Numbers don't lie...unless you're a Democrat.
I humbly stand corrected. The point I had in mind was that the majority of those memorials were erected long after the Civil War was over, whereas most memorials honoring a nation's fallen soldiers are erected much sooner following a war. From the third sentence on, I stand my ground.
Math never was my best subject.
Wait. Haven't Republicans been threatening violence if Trump isn't re-elected. Hasn't Trump suggested there would be violence if he's not re-elected?
Republicans sure do like to speak out of both sides of their mouth.
@Jack Hammer posted:Would anyone be upset if the 2000 thousand year old giant sequoianamed "The General Sherman Tree" was nothing but a stump?Stupidity just about always follows stupidity. I'm full crimson tide butstill pi$$ed about Toomer’s Corner live oak. Yeah, that sure showedthem.
If unblemished history is all that is allowed we won't have history at all. Take down all the statues of MLK and others....such as Rosa Parks. They were flawed people and Parks was a fraud. Ban abortions and close the clinics because Margaret Sanger... Lothrup Stoddard... and C. C. Little started the movement and were known racists.
The modern day abortion rights movement began as the American Birth Control League in 1921. Among its founding board members were Margaret Sanger, Lothrup Stoddard, and C. C. Little. The latter two people were known for their racist views, but Margaret Sanger continually shows up in the company of other racists. In fact, she was the guest speaker at a Ku Klux Klan rally in Silverlake, N. J. in 1926.[1] Not only did she not disassociate herself from these racist views, her own writings leave little doubt as to her sympathies. In implementing a plan called the "Negro Project," that was designed to sterilize Blacks and reduce the number of Black children being born in the south, Sanger wrote:
"[We propose to] hire three or four colored ministers, preferably with social-service backgrounds, and with engaging personalities. The most successful educational approach to the Negro is through a religious appeal. And we do not want word to go out that we want to exterminate the Negro population, and the minister is the man who can straighten out that idea if it ever occurs to any of their more rebellious members."
Republicans: Democrats are responsible for the KKK, slavery and all the oppression of slaves.
Democrats: Well, lets just take down all the statues supporting slavery.
Republicans: STOP DESTROYING OUR HERITAGE.
Republicans sure do like to play both sides of the fence.
I'm waiting for the village idiots to demand every state, county, and city named after Native Americans to be renamed.
