A Minnesota State University professor has sparked backlash after asserting that the Virgin Mary did not give consent to be impregnated and implied that God was predatory.

Psychology professor and sex therapist Dr. Eric Sprankle tweeted “the virgin birth story is about an all-knowing, all-powerful deity impregnating a human teen. There is no definition of consent that would include that scenario. Happy Holidays.”

It was quickly pointed out that Mary did indeed consent, to which Sprankle argued that there is too much of a power dynamic between God and a human to have been legit.

Sorry. LK 1 26:38 states clearly that the angel communicated God's plan for Mary and in verse 38 she agreed. Whether you believe or disbelieve, it helps if you actually read the text....

“The biblical god regularly punished disobedience,” Sprankle rebutted. “The power difference (deity vs mortal) and the potential for violence for saying ‘no’ negates her ‘yes.’ To put someone in this position is an unethical abuse of power at best and grossly predatory at worst.”

This is one of those times I wish I could write this off to "Fake News" or someone stating something to get a rise out of folks but what with the story about the principal wanting to do away with candy canes because  they felt it reminded people of a "J" for Jesus I'll believe anything can come from people in this corrupt generation.  I guess they got tired of trying to deny the virgin birth and so now want to inject human emotion regarding male domination over females.

What so many think they know yet they know so little.  For one although G_d is often referred to in masculine connotations in actuality G_d  the Father and G_d the Holy Spirit is Spirit and has no gender  Christ, G_d in human form/body though did come as a male/man, however, there are a great many trying to corrupt the person of Christ Himself.   Sad but anymore it's difficult to come. up with something that surprises in this generation.

Kraven, Jesus was fully human (as well as fully divine).  That is the interpretation of the Catholic Church, as you should know, as well as the prevailing belief throughout Christendom. How then could it be that he was blessed with only half the chromosomes of a human? Seems your genetics and your theology are in conflict.
