Waffle House used to be on of my favorite Breakfast destinations when I chose to eat breakfast out and their breakfast is usually fairly consistent and good.  Also if you are a senior you can get a 10% discount if you remember to ask for it as it's not automatically added no matter how old/young you appear to be.

That said I wonder if anyone else has found some great breakfast destinations such as the new Homeside Restaurant on Old Huntsville road.  They seem to have a complete breakfast menu but I have yet to hear from someone who has tried it and gave a report on it.

Also if anyone frequents Waffle House I'm wondering how their lunch and dinner offerings are including their Chili?  I keep saying I'm going to give it a try sometime but just can't seem to work up the nerve.   I've seen one of their Ribeyes and it doesn't appear to be the most appetizing and reminds me of something you might get from a plastic bag at the Dollar Store.  For my part I cannot imagine anyone buying meat and many other grocery items from a dollar store but that's just me.

Homeside on Huntsville road has to have good breakfast, Teresa who used to since the closing of the Killen diner serve breakfast at the Killen diner works there.

Since the closing of the Killen diner there is a vacancy for a plate lunch type restaurant. The guy who owns the Mustang grill tried to operate a place in the old Truitt's location on 43, but he quit too soon and h closed that place aver only a few months in operation.

I'll have to try their breakfast; I like a good western omelet, but Waffle House seems to be unpredictable in consistency both in food and billing.

Can't argue with you there but I also might mention, for those of you over 62, or look as if you are, then you can ask for the senior discount and if you ask for it then they will/should give you an additional 10% off the total price.  Remember though you do have to specifically ask for the discount.  I just can't remember if it's just a senior (old folks) discount or AARP discount.

If you aren't 62 but look 62 just lie and cheat the restaurant to get a discount? Hmmmmm

Actually the number 62 was of my making I have no idea what age Waffle House assigns to their discount.  Some places consider seniors being 52+ while others 55+ and still others 60 and older and others still 65.   Truth is that regardless of a person's physical age there are some that are in better shape at 65 than many are at 55 and some in worse shape at 55 than many at 65 are so a lot is arbitrary.  As for a companies policy and their discount or if someone takes it or ask for it I'll leave that up to the individual themselves.  I've never been ask to pony up an ID so I guess I'm one of those that just naturally look old through being weathered down.
