Want to push this country even lower into the pit? Then stick with obummer.
Gotta love it the man who got a tingle up both legs and into his groin over Obama is telling us what candidate to pick. Getting desperate much?

The idiots are out in force today. Will they ever have a clue? Uh, no.
If he stops the tar sand, we will pay dearly for gas imported from China, refined from Canadian oil.
SOPA and PIPA should never reach his desk.
Its Iran that continually threatens to block the Straits of Hormuz and torpedo a US carrier -- both acts of war.

Another clueless from I12, the uninformed.
Gee, wonder why jimma keeps all his "clues" to himself.
Jimi is like the proverbial cheap detective -- never had a clue, never got a clue.
That's not to say it wouldn't have some effect on trade balance figures, but even in the long run the speculation is that it wouldn't make much difference.
The 20,000 jobs figure is also very speculective, and at best would include few that are other than short term labor positions.
Last time I checked short-term labor is better than long-term unemployment.
Right now the Canadian tar oil is trapped in the midwest by a lack of cheap transport, meaning cheaper oil in the midwest. Once it gets to the gulf, it will be sold to highest bidder meaning more expensive gas and diesel for the midwest, particularly farmers.
There are no refineries in the Midwest ya dumbass.

Well said.
There are a couple more things that are left unsaid however:
> while the oil pumped in from Canada would be refined into diesel and sold overseas, it is our Gulf Coast where all the byproducts of that process would be stuck with. In other words, we (the United States) gets very little benefit and all the pollution.
> However, even worse would be if a major oil spill would occur in the Nebraska Sand Hill area where virtually all the water recharging the Ogallala Aquifer originates. While as unlikely as a major oil spill in the Gulf, if it were to happen in the wrong place it is possable that the entire aquifer would be poisioned. If that were to happen, instead of complaining about the cost of gasoline at the pump, you would be complaining about the price of cereal grains and beef that could no longer be raised on our Great Plains .
Easier for us to live without the pipeline, than to live without food.
On the other hand, a lot of my personal objection to it would be nutrilized it it were re-routed around the Nebraska Sand Hill area, AND if the byproduct of the refining were pumped back up to Canada instead of disposed of in the sesitive Gulf Area.
As a side not, like Senior Coffee said, this pipeline would have absolutely no effect on the price of gas at the pump. We are already producing more gasoline than we can use and are having to sell it overseas, which helps our trade balance , but the price is dictated by Wall Street traders.
I am glad Obama finally grew a set.

I believe embargos and sanctions are considered acts of war also.

No surprise that Ronnie P. would miss the obvious, he being dense as depleted uranium.
Ignorance is bliss, so I'm actually a little jealous of those two profoundly happy SOB's.
If you will do a little research, you will find that what you 'believe' in this case is wrong.
...but hey, don't let a fact get in your way... none of the other "progressives" <snicker> here do...

wow... "bliss" denial... with jealousy as icing...
