Wull, duh. It's summer. Every single day has a chance of a pop-up thunderstorm.
I noticed that attitude as well and it bothered me. Our news media was immediately blaming someone for a tragic accident. Insurance would term this as "an act of God" -- something that could not have been predicted or foreseen...if they want to say the event should have been cancelled, I agree with GoFish, we'd never have anything planned because weather here in Alabama is extremely unpredictable -- even with all of the technology. There was no "line of storms" moving through or anything to have indicated this would happen...those type of storms literally pop up and explode in the blink of an eye...
It's sad that our news media was so slanted toward that insted of praising the quick and accurate response by the First Responders and praising the local hospitals with their efficient "plan" that they practiced and were then able to put into action...there were many heros that day and I think they should have been more sympathetic to those that were injured and more supportive to the others...
