Weather Channel Climate Expert Calls for Decertifying Global Warming Skeptics

Posted by Marc Morano 202-224-5762 marc_morano@epw.senate.gov (8:50pm ET)
The Weather Channel’s most prominent climatologist is advocating that broadcast meteorologists be stripped of their scientific certification if they express skepticism about predictions of manmade catastrophic global warming. This latest call to silence skeptics follows a year (2006) in which skeptics were compared to "Holocaust Deniers" and Nuremberg-style war crimes trials were advocated by several climate alarmists

Interventor:

I would be delighted if you could cite some credible sources which reference scientists being threatened with execution for failing to accept the reality of global warming.

Or were you just making a little joke, like the AREA 51 INFO REVEALED?

Let me know if I should take you seriously or go rent a funny movie to help me lighten up.

You must look at the BIG PICTURE of the entire GLOBE. The ice caps of the earth are melting. The earth is warming. New York has had first snow fall the latest time of year since records have been kept.
Records have only been kept since the mid 1800's. The first thing I learned in middle school Earth science is that the Earth is constantly changing. It always has, it always will. If the climate is changing, there is really nothing we can do about it. It's changed before, it will change again.

The real scary part of that story is that Heidi Cullen is trying to silence anyone who disagrees with her and other global warming proponents. They refer to skeptics as being similar to holocaust deniers. She wants to deny certification to any meteorologist who disagrees with her and hide any evidence they may present. Suppression of science, research, and thought is what really scares me.
I wasn't joking. "Grist Magazine’s staff writer David Roberts called for the Nuremberg-style trials for the “bastards” who were members of what he termed the global warming “denial industry.”

Roberts wrote in the online publication on September 19, 2006, "When we've finally gotten serious about global warming, when the impacts are really hitting us and we're in a full worldwide scramble to minimize the damage, we should have war crimes trials for these bastards -- some sort of climate Nuremberg.” Nuremberg trials ended with executions or long sentences.
GLOABL WARMING IS ALL ABOUT THE BENJAMINS

I do not know of a single TV meteorologist who buys into the man-made global warming hype. I know there must be a few out there, but I can’t find them. Here are the basic facts you need to know:

*Billions of dollars of grant money is flowing into the pockets of those on the man-made global warming bandwagon. No man-made global warming, the money dries up. This is big money, make no mistake about it. Always follow the money trail and it tells a story. Even the lady at “The Weather Channel” probably gets paid good money for a prime time show on climate change. No man-made global warming, no show, and no salary. Nothing wrong with making money at all, but when money becomes the motivation for a scientific conclusion, then we have a problem. For many, global warming is a big cash grab.

*The climate of this planet has been changing since God put the planet here. It will always change, and the warming in the last 10 years is not much difference than the warming we saw in the 1930s and other decades. And, lets not forget we are at the end of the ice age in which ice covered most of North America and Northern Europe.

If you don’t like to listen to me, find another meteorologist with no tie to grant money for research on the subject. I would not listen to anyone that is a politician, a journalist, or someone in science who is generating revenue from this issue.

In fact, I encourage you to listen to WeatherBrains episode number 12, featuring Alabama State Climatologist John Christy, and WeatherBrains episode number 17, featuring Dr. William Gray of Colorado State University, one of the most brilliant minds in our science.

WeatherBrains, by the way, is our weekly 30 minute netcast.

I have nothing against “The Weather Channel”, but they have crossed the line into a political and cultural region where I simply won’t go.
Weather Channel needs to stick to reporting and forecasting the weather, not discussing political topics such as global warming.

IMHO, Weather Channel started going downhill when John Hope died a few years back. FYI, John Hope is the hurricane forecaster who named a hurricane that hit the Gulf Coast in the Biloxi, MS area in 1969 after his daughter. His daughter is named Camille. To the day he died, it bothered him...but back then, you didn't have the naming system you have today.

I like Jim Cantore and the other chasers, but they have gotten out of control as of late.

Now, whenever I want weather info, I go to www.noaa.gov and click on the storm map on the left side of the page, that shows US alerts. I also use my NOAA weather alert radio I bought in Oklahoma when I used to live there for information. TV has gotten rediculous.

And I know, from living in North Alabama, whenever the S word is said, the stores are flooded with people getting the bread and milk...how funny, and ignorant.

It has been so long that we had just the right amount and conditions I can barely recall.

Well, move over here where I am at....4-6 inches predicted for tomorrow afternoon/evening. Last weekend, we had 2 inches or so of ice/snow. Still on the ground. I saw icebergs on the Missouri River yesterday afternoon.....and it was ZERO F degrees earlier this week....
Russia Weathers a Disturbing Warm Winter

MOSCOW (AP) -- It was one of Russia's traditional days for taking a dip and swimmers were complaining _ because it was too warm outside. Countless Russians every year mark the Orthodox Epiphany religious feast by plunging into water through holes in the ice and shivering vigorously in the frigid air. On Friday, the ice was either thin or absent and the air wasn't especially cold.

In a country known for brutally cold winters, a spell of unseasonably warm weather has unnerved many people and caused experts to worry about the effects of global warming.
I think Michael Crichton put it best. If you were to lay all the constituents in air out on a football field where nitrogen took up 78 yards, oxygen took up about 20 yards and the remaining two yard was everything else; then the last two inches of those two yards would be carbon dioxide.

The graphs we see on the liberal news that show steep increases in CO2 over the last 100 years is an optical illusion. Anybody can microscale a graph to get the effect that they want.

The computer models that keeps getting shown is also a farce. They never tell you that the error associated with the models is greater than plus or minus 200%.

Fact is, they can't accurately predict the weather more than five days out. They are just assuming the trend will continue forever.
