Hadn't thought of these in years.
Not until the various posts on...school name change...Casmus's...etc.
Brought back old memories.
Started out on Prairie St...North.
Ice cream truck came around. Mail carriers in those little 3 wheeled things. Milk delivered to your door. Un-supervised Halloween up and down the block.
Fast forward to Normandy Dr.
Walking to school...or biking.
Spring Festival at Weeden.
Walkng to "Mr. Taylors" Groc. corner of Huntsville Rd. and Broadway. to get milk.
Mrs Lee...the barber...
Another Husband/Wife barber shop beside Casmus's.
Casmus's...the "watering hole" for lawyers, politicians, etc...and! catching the bus to go "downtown".
The "Wash-a-teria".
John Camps Garage.
Broadway Recreation Center...Birthday Parties.
Wilsons Groc. Store...looked HUGE to a 6 year old...and they gave out Green Stamps.
All of that was lost...when my family moved to the old "Homeplace" in Greenhill...
That's when we went wild!
Woods...dirt roads...creeks...guns...bad girls...
