First you would have to define the word "work" for them. I'm not sure anybody in Washington, DC understands "work". They definitely understand "pay" and "benefits." I also think they have a definition for "sex" but it doesn't match ours. It is all a matter of "pay me so I can go back home and get elected to get paid again."

Edit: I had to take out the word "work" in my last sentence. They don't understand it.

This is somehow bad?

Mind you, I ain't defending congresscritters by any stretch, but I just don't see what the hullabaloo is all about.

Note that all the "state work" is around major holidays. How much "state work" would you imagine will get done during that period? It's simply a way to fly congresscritters home, on the taxpayer's dime, to spend a long weekend.
