Political parties have always pitted people against each other often as some Religions do and with similar results but never has there been a time when such vast division existed within our nation such that a concerted effort on, a great part of, the National media's part to attempt to unseat and take down a sitting President that they disagreed with, or didn't like.
Trump used to be King and the glory child for many of these exact same people, some of which would fawn over being seen with him or being invited to a party or gathering with him. Politicians likewise would schedule appointments around opportunities to be seen or visit with him. The only more dramatic shift in emotions and observable feelings about someone, once Trump announced to run for President was the shift in Nick Saban's emotions from when Tua took that horrendous sack in the National Championship game to when Tua completed the game-winning touchdown throw.
Trump went from the TOP of people's "A" list to one deserving death and banishment to some foreign, unknown and barren planet in some cold sunless universe. I for one cannot blame Trump for his Twitter outburst for even though not the most Presidential thing it is the ONLY way he has of unfiltered reaching those people who actively support him and to cut through the filters of network and combined media outlets who have set their goals on the elimination of this President.
Some wonder why Hillary Clinton is continuously brought up and resurrected after 2016's defeat but the answer to that is that she is still out there making false excuses for her "most unexpected" defeat. Polls and friends, colleagues alike had all but assured and guaranteed her victory over some bumblesome candidate who never held office and was dealt daily dishes of scandalous stories in the national media about how he was unfit for office or even unfit for sharing air with others. All Trump had was a vision to correct a direction that he saw America going that, in his opinion, would take America into a 2nd class status among other nations and in a position where competition with the world was all but forfeited to friends and enemies alike. Trump's campaign vision was his personal goals, for America and alternately for her citizens, and that was to "Make America Great" again. Make America competitive again, Make America Rich and Wealthy again, Make America Trusted again, Make America Compete and WIN again all inclusive and even more. Trump lived and saw the day when America was both feared for her Military Strength and envied for her opportunities and growth. Trump experienced and saw the best of America and saw the decline of many things that had set America onto a path of non-exceptionalism.
For many liberals and Trump enemies, it was time to grab the dictionary and throw around some words to see if they could make them stick. Pride in your Country became selfishness and greed. Exceptionalism became racism and hate. Because you wanted America to succeed and be Great was turned into a profane and misguided desire to see all others fail and be defeated. Because you didn't want to open borders to all and everyone regardless of their criminal past or potential of allowing terrorist in meant you were racist and hated other people, as a whole. Unfortunately, enough of this bombardment by the national press and complete Democratic party began to have some effect on Trump and he made some attempts to appease them but all to no avail.
We, Americans, are experiencing the most concerted effort, a huge collusion between media, various liberal judges and courts, high Government officials and entertainment people, Democrats, and liberals and even many never trump conservatives (such as George Will), to allow manufactured paid opposition research meant to defeat a political candidate to be used as and reclassified as evidence in an overt attempt to unseat and remove a legally elected President of the United States and for no other reason than their personal dislike of the man and driven by an almost insane derangement syndrome that was fueled on Election day 2016 and has grown exponentially ever since.
I've never experienced or seen a time of such actions nor have I ever read of such a concerted effort on the part of obviously deranged and obsessed people, many to the level of obsession to insanity. Never, also have we witnessed the abuse of Government offices to assist in such concerted efforts all blinded by their own obsession and derangement as they attempt to overturn the 2016 Presidential election. Where this ends is anyone's guess but times are certainly unprecedented and unpredictable but at least Trump, unlike any other politician seems unphased by all this and is continuing to be willing to fight the fight if but alone if necessary. Trump is not a typical politician but is just the type of President that was and is needed to do exactly what he promised to do and set out to do.
I think he's done a super job so far, at least for my part but that is and remains to this point, my personal opinion. Ohh and the title of this post ... Respect for the Office of President. I did not care for Obama and the Democrats rule for their 8 years of attempts to destroy what America was founded to be. I did not think he was an effective President and at times I thought he was an embarrassment but never the less I supported him and he was my President. I may complain or been critical but I supported him as President and I wasn't signing petitions to get him removed. Anymore there is no respect for the office of the President but then why should there be for when in Office Obama didn't respect it himself and surely since he has left the office he has shown nothing but disdain for the Office and Trump who replaced him. Tradition went out the door and Obama became an open and verbal critic. at least he remains consistent ... an embarrassment, just what you would expect from a rank amateur or rookie at a job that he never should have had.
