One of the posters on the forum made the statement along the line that he didn't answer questions unless they were "intelligent" questions.  So, in your opinion, what is an intelligent question? How about a question asking someone if they read a certain article another poster posted about something/someone in a discussion? Is that an intelligent question or "throwing stones"? How about asking someone if they have a repu table link to a claim they've made about something or someone in that discussion? Is that an intelligent question or "throwing stones"? Any thoughts?

Pretty much ALL questions are signs of intelligence.

Questions are one of the first parts of the learning process.

It's the ones that think they know everything so questions aren't necessary ya hafta wonder about.

If 700 monkeys typed for 700 years-One of them would eventually turn out the complete works of Shakespeare.

And...

'Educated' doesn't always mean 'intelligent.'

That's OK, I can't speak for other atheists here but since you've never offered anything except snarky remarks, and nothing of substance, I can say I'm not impressed by you either. As far as "spitting contests", bill is the main one that turns the threads into those. You seem to like "spitting contests" on the politics forum, so, to each his own.

The only recent comment I've made in politics was saying not to judge Jesse Jackson Jr. on his color alone. He can't help what his color is. Would you rather I had said blacks are inferior? Is that how you feel?

I had no idea what you posted in politics, I didn't see it. But dang, "he can't help" what color he is? Seems to me it's you that thinks blacks are inferior!!!

Hey rram, my employees want to know how much you'll pay them to come work for you. They agree with me that such a "big talking man/woman", whatever you are, should be willing to put their money where their mouth is. You know what we mean rram? Money talks, ** walks. Now, you wouldn't want us all to think you're just full of hot air/** would you???

I'll wait for an intelligent answer.  Not one from, say, Bill, but a really intelligent one.

DF

DF, saying Bill is not intelligent shows something about yourself. Evidence for your claim is not there. You dispise him because you feel inferior. [I study and know these things]. Rather than call him names why don't you present evidence God does not exist. That is the core of your constant rant. You are just an angry atheist with no ambition or realistic goal other than bellyache about a subject well over your head. Give it up.

Try to keep up old troll. I said I couldn't speak for all, only myself. You should try that. You know, let people speak for themselves. Your "pals" and the voices in your head, look and sound stupid enough and don't need your help making them look even worse.

___________

Since you seem to be a hit & miss poster, you don't really know for a fact who starts the spitting. Just because Billy calls it a spitting match doesn't say who started it. Read here more often & you will see who lies, twist the things we say, & runs when we confront & show him proof of what he said.

I'm guessing that I'm one of the ones that was referred to as 'out of their league.'

Everybody here that knows me knows I'm a high school dropout. That shoe fits, I'll wear it.

While it tends to be highly educated people who are atheists, just like it's not a fundamental requirement of human existence to have to worship something, neither is it a fundamental requirement of atheism to be a college professor.

Anybody who actually stops to think realistically can see that magical, mystical skydaddies make absolutely no sense atall.  You don't need a degree to figure it out.

The word is full of educated idiots.

I haven't counted posts I've made in politics recently, but best accused me of spitting in politics. The only recent post was about a black politician. Then best says she doesn't have any idea what I posted in politics. Could she explain that? Then she plays the race card.

FTR, Road puppy, I wasn't referring to you. Have no idea how much education you have or don't have. Your posts are usually funny whether I agree with them or not. When I've "taken up" for Bill I've made it clear I'm a Baptist. Not hiding anything.

Sure I can "explain it". I didn't accuse you of anything. What I did was reply to your post where you stated that bill was right, that THIS forum was only "spitting contests". I pointed out that "spitting contests" were about all you'd find in the politics forum but that I had noticed YOU posted there, so to me it seemed you liked the spitting contests there, since I've never seen you complain about the "contests" over there, but again, I haven't read all your posts. I didn't see your post about jackson. I'm going by what YOU said you posted here.

Now to this that YOU posted:

"The only recent comment I've made in politics was saying not to judge Jesse Jackson Jr. on his color alone. He can't help what his color is. Would you rather I had said blacks are inferior? Is that how you feel?"

Now notice, you asked ME if I had rather you said blacks are inferior, and was that how I feel.

MY answer:

So explain how in the world you get that I am "playing the race card" from that?

Doesn't make any difference who says who is out of their league, doesn't make them right. Usually those that use that term is high society snobs or one of those educated idiots you mentioned.

I don't care if you're a high school drop out or not. You're Ok in my book. I think you would be one of those that would "have my back" if I needed it.

Twice what you pay best if they are 'master craftsmen' that way they can't be atheists.

Poor old rramalamadingdong. You can't ask them if they're atheists. So I'll tell them twice what they make now, and send them along to you. Of course that means BC/BS and all the benefits they get now. Now, where do I send them? Gotta warn you, they're used to working for honest people so they won't put up with your lying ********.

College educated Christian here.  Never quit at anything in my life...worked my way through school followed by 46 year careers in law enforcement and military and now farming.  I guess not being an "intelligent atheist" as has been insinuated here made me work harder.  And for that, I am eternally grateful.

While I agree we can learn by asking questions, I disagree with the premise that all questions are based on seeking knowledge.  Polly want a cracker? I would point out there are those who ask questions only seeking agreement with the answers they want to hear and disregard that which they don't.  So what do they learn?

Yet often times the answer they seek could be answered themselves if they weren't so afraid of the work required to obtain a little knowledge on their own rather than rely on others to spoon feed them and whine about it when they don't.
