Heres something to think about.   Congress wants $38.5 billion in budget cuts in the form of Education, Health & Human Services, Medicare, Energy, etc....  Things that our tax dollars are spent on that actually help us.  Were spending approx $8 billion dollars every MONTH on the war in Afghanistan.  If we pulled out now, it would only take us 19 WEEKS to recoupe that $38.5 billion in budget cuts they would be taking in benefits for us.  I don't understand how this is such a complicated decision.

For once we agree!!

I think that ditto is refering to the PAST.  During the Bush Admin. Republicans weren't concerned.  Your sighting data from 2011.  Personally, I have ALWAYS been concerned, I have never seen the need for either the Afghanistan or Iraq wars.  They were both pointless, neither had any clear objective and it was obvious how much they were costing us year after year after year.  I also was against the bank bailouts.  They could have sent us each a check to be applied towards our mortagages and saved us from being on the hook.  It would have solved most of our problems then and now.  But instead we had a gun put to our heads.

There is no correlation for political views and ditto's chart. During the Bush admin, we had a 5 trillion debt, now it's triple that. The DOW was up, employment was up and housing was up.  All of that had a lot to do with those trends.

What did you want Bush and his admin to do after 9/11? Ignore the terrorists?

Bull.  BushIIe left us with about $11trillion of debt. Take your revisionism and leave.  Most of the debt accumulated since 2008 is due to loss of tax revenue, not additional spending.  BushIIe presided over the loss of $15trillion of American wealth that will never be recovered.

Most of that loss of wealth was due to the drop in housing costs.  Because of an injection of over $1 trillion by Fannie/Freddie, the market was distorted over a number of years. Dodd/Frank kept the ball rolling despite warning from Bush and audit reports.

I think your numbers are wrong. http://www.cbsnews.com/8301-50...-4872310-503544.html

And let me remind you that it was BUSH that left us with all these problems.  He left us with a recession that verged on a depression, he left us with a bank bail out, he left us with a stock market on the verge of crashing, he left us with a housing crisis as a result of a bank bailout, he left us with the Afghanistan War and he left us with the Iraq war.   Obama was dammed if he did the stimulus and dammed if he didn't.  No matter what he did you weren't gonna be happy.  But instead of just saying "yeah....Bush messed us up....lets gets this country fixed", your objectives have been to prevent us from getting it fixed so you could accuse Obama of being as big of a failure and bring in another Bush to take us to our knees again.

As for 9/11, tell me....what have we accomplished with these wars?  Is terrorism no longer a problem? The only thing we have accomplished is running our country into the ground.

To be fair, we've received about 90 percent of the bank bailout funds back. In some cases, with interest. The stimulus money was pizzed away on pet democrat projects, not infrastructure.  After wasting about $850 billion with little to show, I'll not trust Obama with any more funds.

Once more, Bush didn't cause the housing crisis, federal policy over 20 years did so, in collusion with some private business.  Democrats deserve most of the blame, but the Republicans are unindicted co-conspirators.

Over half of the OBama Stimulus Bill was tax cuts, the largest tax cut in history, so that was free?!?!?!  Tax cuts increase fedgov revenues is the mantra of the RepubTEACons after all.

CDS were the cause of the Wall Street implosion.  The housing bubble was just a side effect.

How can you say it was pizzed away with nothing to show.  Unless you live in an alternative universe where there was no stimulus how do you KNOW their was nothing to show.  Business is picking up, the stock didn't crash, unemployment is going down. We are not spiralling downward into a depression.  How do you know if it did any good or not. YOU CAN'T!!
