A couple I still hate that are popular in the club scene . I don't remember one of the names of one of them, but it will bubble up and I'll post it later.
This one is horrible, and as most of you know, I am pretty liberal.
"My Neck, My Back" by Khia

Actually , to even class it as a song does it an honor.
Be sure the kiddies are not in the room when you play it, and I warn you, after you listen to it, you will need to play something from ABBA to "clean" out your head.
The Worst Song of All Time is:
*drumroll, please*
You're having my baby by Debbie Boone.
The Culture Police should flog her every time it's aired on Brain-Damage All The Time Oldies FM Radio!

I think you're thinking of You light up my life.
Having my baby was a Paul Anka song, i think recorded locally.
both so bad you couldn't remember the details, right?

You Light Up My Life. Wasn't that like the number one song of the whole 70's, only surpassing Love Will Keep Us Together?
And wasn't Ms. Boone singing to God with You Light Up My Life? That's creepy. I remember hearing that song at several weddings I was forced to go to as a kid.
Can't resist......
From the Vat of Absolutely Useless Pop Culture Knowlege: "Debby" (what a snotty way to spell that ) Boone is, of course, the daughter of Pat Boone. She is married to Gabriel Ferrer, son of Jose Ferrer and Rosemary Clooney; Gabriel's first cousin is George Clooney. You think George Clooney shows up to the family reunions on that side of the family?
My first boyfriend even tried some of her lyrics on me to, you know, talk me into stuff...
It can't be wrong
When it feels so right.....

I remember You Light Up My Life from when I was a kid. That has to be the worst. Ihatedthat song. Of course most of the "music" today barely qualifies as such. Geez I sound like my parents.
I hate that song, too. Maybe could be, might be, probably is, yeah it its, because it was played at mine and my ex's wedding. What was I thinking.
i would like to nominate two songs, both done by Cher........ 'half breed' and 'gypsies, tramps and thieves'........ and i would rather have my spleen ripped outta my nostrils with a rusty coat hanger than to hear another song by reba mcintyre.
Infecting my radio today....I Would Do Anything For Love (But I Won't Do That) - Meat Loaf...Meatloaf...I don't know...Need I say more?
Meatloaf...."can't you see my faded Levi's bursting apart, can't you hear me screaming please don't go........
stop right there before we go any further, do you love me will you love me forever.
Yeah, I was a Meatloaf fan, what can I say?

I have to agree with Shimara from back in May and say anything by Celine Dion..... but I also want to add "Feelings" by Albert Morris and "Dead Skunk" by Loudon Wainwright III (I think... may be wrong about that part)..... a lot of the songs mentioned on here are not really bad songs.... it's just that you hear them so often you get tired of them.... I can't stand "Wind Beneath My Wings" or "Butterfly Kisses"... both are pretty good songs, but they got the heck played outta them and got tiring to listen to.
I goofed on my last message.... "Feelings" is by Morris Albert, not Albert Morris... sorry, Morris......
"The Final Countdown" is one of my least favorite songs.
"Blue (Da Ba Dee)" Eiffel 65
Gotta put my two cents' worth in. "Troglodyte" - what a "song"! I know a Bertha and it makes me grin every time I hear that song. Which is never, nowadays, and that's ok! "Fish Heads" - I saw that on I truly believe "You Can't Do That On Television", which by the way was a great show. I didn't know it actually was a real song! And, my NEW nomination - "Telephone Man"!
"I went to my apartment on a Monday at one
A-singin' do lolly, lolly shicky bum, shicky bum
Started movin' in it on a Tuesday at two
A-singin' do lolly, lolly shicky do, shicky do
Wednesday at three I called the phone company, singin':
"Hey baby, put a phone in for me"
Thursday at four he came a-knockin' at my door, singin':
"Hey, baby, I'm your telephone man
You just show me where you want it and I'll put it where I can
I can put it in the bedroom, I can put it in the hall
I can put it in the bathroom, I can hang it on the wall
You can have it with a buzz, you can have it with a ring
And if you really want it you can have a ding-a-ling
Because-a hey baby, I'm your telephone man"

OMG, I haven't thought of that song in years. Hey Baby I'm your Telephone Man...yuk, yuk and triple yuk!!!! That is old because hardly anyone has a landline phone or a telephone man to put one in either.
Oh I HATED that song! QLT played it so much the lyrics stuck in my brain! AACCKK!!! LOL

"All I Want To Do Is Make Love To You" by Heart
It is catchy and the lead singer is great but the lyrics and message in that song is just atrocious.

I totally agree, it was a song basically about one thing. Tune for sure catchy, the lyrics are what makes it a song about not much. Heart is a group that I like and have seen live before. Good group.

What was it about QLT in the seventies, Kung Fu Fighting, was one that for weeks and weeks was number one everynight, on the top ten show they had then.

That brings back memories. I remember calling up to vote for my favorite songs.
I haven't read the whole post ...just the last 2 pages but I absolutely loved "Your Buddy Ron's Worst Record of the Night" when I was a kid. I can still remember a song called
Fish Head's being played. Some of the songs actually got popular. I think Paradise By the Dashboard light was one of them. And of course anything Weird AL was doing at the time.LOL Those were the days!

Haha, Autumn1964, I didn't include ALL the lyrics but yes, that's some of the rest! That ranks up there with "My Ding-a-Ling" as a "Hmmmm, is that a dirty song or is my mind in the gutter?"
And, oh, yes, "Kung Fu Fighting" - it does bring back those memories. I was in high school and the boys thought they were all Grasshopper!!!
I had forgotten all about "Your Buddy Ron's Worst Record of the Night!" How could I forget that? How about CHICKEN MAN in the mornings?? "Chicken Man, he's everywhere he's everywhere!" Every single morning, I can't remember if it came on right when my alarm went off, or if it was my signal to get busy watching for my ride.
Sigh.
Need to yank myself back into TODAY now!

What is really weird is we all talked at school about what songs were on QLT's top ten.
I can remember the night Lynard Skynard plane crashed like it was yesterday. I was getting ready for a date, listening to WQLT. I even remember what I was wearing.
