what will I do

In the last few days in this forum I have noticed many posts by two new kids on the block (both joined on the same day) extolling the virtures of a local blog. I have to confess I was intrigued and took a visit. I now know what I will have to do.
In time I may become unable to form my own opinion. Luckily, all I have to do is visit this blog and there will be one there waiting for me.
When I arrive I will have to but read a sentence, or maybe two, and I will be spoonfed a mixture of misinformation and opinionated rhetoric until my diminished psyche raises it shield of sensibility in self defence. But no, I shall read on. What was once but a trickle will become a torrent of sensless ramblings and thinnly veiled synicisim rammed down the throat of what used to be an independent free thinking individual. When I am filled to capacity with this transplanted swill I will return to this forum.
But you, my friends, will know. You will begin to see my posts in every catagory, every thread, each accompanied by a link to this insidious blog. And then you will know.
I would pray that when this happens, some benevolent member of this forum would come to me and lead me to some green meadow, or perhaps a babbling brook, and quitely end for me my suffering by any means you may see fit. I would also beg that he/she upon completion of my execution cover my vile repugnant carcass with the bended boughs of sycamore and hickory. I entreat my friend to saturate my funeral pyre with some flammable liquid and ignite the disgusting mound. And if I might impose,I would ask that my benefactor remain until my repulsive cadever is consumed so that no innocent woodland creature become infected by its consumption. Go then, my blessed companion. Return to your home, and feel no remorse. You will have done no wrong. You have but swatted a fly. You will have ended the suffering of a poor mindless idiot who didn't even realize he was miserable.

I like the sound of that. As for that blog's recommendations, I live in Florence. I don't think I'll vote for Janice Keeton, but not because Suseecue doesn't like her or because her cousin by marriage killed a girl. I will probably vote for Gil Self, but that's not written in stone just yet.

As for Brad Holmes, you betcha I'll be voting for him. So that blog is batting .500 in suggestions for me.

I didn't like the gambling blog, but that was a guest commentary. We'll see what the rest of them have to say.

I think Info is correct in that the two advertising or whatever they are doing arent with the blog being advertised. And again correct in that the gambling blog is a guest commentary. They would also welcome a guest rebuttal to it I'm sure.
I read it almost daily. And there are things I dont agree with either. But it is a blog, an opinion. Sometimes they have misinformed, but as far as I know they have tried to correct it.

could the fact be that you are not affiliated with the sholanda speaks blog and because of an imagined grudge you keep posting links trying to get her blog in trouble with the td??

Ahhh.. The plot sickens. Perhaps I have been hoodwinked, hoo dooed, baited if you will. And I, foolish and ignorant as I am, have rushed to the bait like a rat in a trap. I offer my sincere and humble appoligies to the offended party and redirect my ire to the witless ninnies who may have outwitted a poor dottering old fool. Remember, sisters of dissension, there is no honor in conquering the defenseless. I will retire now to lick my wounds and pray for enlightenment.

Leo Shoalanda also has links to different blogs that a very varied in their opinions. Osbourne Ink is one that is liberal slanted.There are also blogs on gardening, home health,food reviews, and my blog which is basically the ramblings of a weird guy. So if you do not agree with the opinions of Shoalanda Speaks then she/them offers you a chance to try something different. And I for one thank her/them for it.

I read SS from time to time and the only thing that concerns me is that from time to time they jump the gun on issues and incidents without having all the facts. Then people swallow those facts and often quote them verbatim on the TD forums as the gospel truth. I can think of two instances where false information was given. That can be dangerous...

I know right now you've got legal sue (what a name) swearing the lady running for judge in Florence is the aunt of the guy that shot the woman in front of her kids and you've got SS saying that it was a cousin by marriage. Anyway, I've seen two corrections on there, but some things are a matter of opinion.

she was his aunt, and did, at times, provide him with legal advise, or at least an opinion about how to handle legal matters.

Ms. Keeton tells us that the man involved, Rich, is her husband's first cousin once removed. Looking back only one person started the whole aunt thing-legalsue. It seems to have got going pretty good since everyone now believes it.

I have come to respect quite a few of the people in this forum. Most seem to be able to debate an issue in an intelligent manner and still respect the others point of view. I have really enjoyed the thread on spanking. Obviously a huge gap in beliefs, but they (both sides) have managed to keep it civil while standing their ground. I am glad to be here and hope to remain for a long time
