"He Stopped Loving her Today" George Jones

"......He stopped loving her today
They placed a wreath upon his door
And soon they'll carry him away
He stopped loving her today

(Spoken)
You know she came to see him one last time
Oh and we all wondered if she would
And it kept running through my mind
This time he's over her for good"
Oh my, so many great songs to choose from but I am going with.... (drum roll please) Baby's got her bluejeans on.... I LOVE that song. No matter what type of mood I am in if I hear that song I automatically get a huge smile on face and must begin singing and dancing... I have it on a CD and I keep it at my desk at work... just in case I need it in an emergency Wink

This version gives me chills, but the album cut sounds a little more country with the addition of the pedal steel.

Great song "gracies old man" may we never forget what this "BRAVE SOLDIER AND HERO" did for our country that this song was sung about.

Eeker I didnt catch that . lol Sorry , I been sick all weekend , thanks Bald guy . Wink
Since the original poster said only pick one, I'll have to decide between: Johnny Cash's "Boy Named Sue", John Anderson's "Just A Swangin", Willie Nelson's "My Heros Have Always Been Cowboys", and last but not least Merle Haggard & Willie Nelson's "Pancho and Lefty". I'm going to go with........"Pancho and Lefty". Yeah that's only one.

Joy, that song was played at my father-in-laws funeral and to this day I can not listen to it without crying.
It's gotta be an all time tear jerker.

My FAVORITE Country song is....
"Joni Joni Please Don't Cry" by Conway Twitty.
Anyone who knows me can understand why! Big Grin
