The more I read, the more it seems that Operation Iraqi Freedom, is not a new war. It is merely an escalation or contiuance of Desert Storm. This thought saddens me, because that means we've forgotten thousands of young men and women who have been fighting a war without any credit from us.

After Desert Sheild, we never really left the area, enforcing the no-fly zones and such (active air combat). Then came Desert Fox, and the bombing of Iraq and incursions by special forces never stopped until right before this current escalation.

I could give some links, and will if asked, but some here are posting links to the point of annoyance.

I have given my stance on the war, and don't want to rehash that. Thought perhaps this is a new and interesting angle to look at this bit of equine percussion.

Shiroshi, this is a good point, I will have to give it more thought though, on my way to work right now... cant be late!!! I will come back to it though Smiler
We've been fighting a variation of this war since 1786. For 15 years, it cost 20 percent of the federal budget to reclaim ships and hostages. Until, Jefferson sent in the fleet and cleaned out the Barbary coast. The more things change, the more they remain the same.

It is and it's only the beginning of their "Long War" for profits, power and domination.

The only way I know we can end it, is to cut funding as we did in Nam. The American people will have to end it, and you don't have enough out cry from the american people yet.
