Then you don't have much reason to post here, do you? We are posting for the same reasons: We disagree on the existence of your imaginary friend who evidently is even more powerful than Sasquatch and can read whats in my heart and physically toss me in the lake of fire if He doesn't like what He sees there.

no.. this is a religion forum.. You don't believe in God, and Christianity is the primary religion represented on here... sooooo, that would be like me getting on a Star Wars forum just so I could constantly rail against all the idots on there that Star Wars isn't real.

And as for the "toss me in the lake of fire if He doesn't like what He sees there"... I like that you capitalized the "H".. good work.. lol, but once again I tell you. Quit assuming you know what you talk about when it comes to the Bible. You are an atheist... fine, I don't care. But when you continually post inaccuracies about how one winds up in Hell you lose credibility to debate at all.... If you are so concerned about what we Christians all think of the eternal destination of our souls so much that you feel the need to evangelize for us... at least know what you are debating against. Have at least a tiny understanding of the Bible before you come to a debate format that may pertain to it.

You're no different than anyone else, no more pious or rightous. When we gather with friends we love to eat, play games, talk and socialize, and we don't need alcohol to have fun. The weakest drink there is hot tea, the strongest Coke Zero. Again you try to insist that non-believers are all heathens. I don't have friends that drink to any excess at all, and most don't drink anything alcoholic. I know people that drink, and I do mean to excess, and one of those would be a so called "Christian". He also cheats on his wife, but it's ok I guess, he does go to church every time the door is open. Pretending I believe in God, and it would be pretending, wouldn't make me happy. I'd be like a lot of other people that have to pretend to believe or people like you would look "down on them." If you are truly happier believing that's fine. I don't need that crutch. And unlike you I don't "judge" people based on the fact they believe or don't believe. I take every person as they are, and I don't try to change them or tell them they're missing something in life.

Hi Jennifer,

You made a good point -- and I have responded in a new discussion titled "Did I Really Say That Non-Believers Always Drink And Party?"

Take a look.

God bless, have a wonderful, blessed day,

Bill

Hi Deep,

To the best of my knowledge, the TimesDaily Forums do NOT have spell check. I have it on my computer because I installed an Add-In to my Internet Explorer 8 browser. But, before that, I had to do spell check in a word processor or in Netscape Composition.

Just a wee thought!

God bless, have a wonderful, blessed day,

Bill

what i do hate is the message of fear and hate bill sends out in the name of Christ.

and sometimes it's just a tad more than i cna cope with... especially since i quit smokin a little while back and spend most of the day willing to jab forks into the necks of people that annoy me.

i havn't yet... but it's a nice little fantasy that will help get me through Smiler

Bill just picked the wrong time in my life for him to be Bill Gray is all.

if i still smoked, he wouldn't have gotten under my skin.

if i was weak and went back to it, i could have let it go.

just bad timing is all.

what do you mean, Sasquatch isn't real?
you need to quit messin around... someone might believe you if you keep saying stuff liek that

Hi Nagel,

Believe me, I totally understand where you are coming from! There are millions of people like you who want to go to church, for varying reasons -- but, heaven forbid, don't give them a message which will make them feel uncomfortable. They want all the lovey dovey, touchy, feely, good feelings kind of theology -- but, don't dare tell them about salvation, hell, sin, and other such things which make their seats itch.

Yes, my Friend, we call those the "Feel Good" churches -- and, not to worry -- as long as you fill a seat in their pew and give generously when they pass the tithing plate -- they will never burden you with such words as hell and sin.

From our conversations, I would guess that you get all giggly over Joel Osteen -- that good old Texas drawl, that big old toothy grin -- and, never will such blasphemous words as sin, hell, and eternal hell fire cross his holy lips.

Yes, Nagel, folks like you are why so many "Feel Good" megachurches are bursting at the seams every Sunday. And, my Friend, I wish you well and good luck. You will need it.

God bless, have a wonderful, blessed day,

Bill

seriously? this forum has a spell checker? wow.
wish i had been told about this before now

Mine has a spell checker too....

Hi David,

I don't believe the Eve software that TimesDaily uses has a built in spell checker -- unless they have added it recently. Possibly your browswer, Internet Explorer, etc., has spell check. I know that last year, I had to download an Add-in program for my IE8 browser, just for the spell check it offered.

Which browser are you using? I think that maybe Mozilla FireFox does have spell check. Oh, well, I have the add-in for IE8 so I am okay.

God bless, have a wonderful, blessed day,

Bill

AAAWWWWWWWW CRUSTY!!! SOOOOOO FREAKIN CLOSE TO GETTIN MY POINT!!! DANG...

No, I used an analogy... TO YOU... AND OTHER ATHEISTS God is as real, or un-real, as Star Wars, or sasquatch is to me. Thus.. and here is the explanation of the analogy so don't miss it, thus, me getting on a forum to rail against those who believe in Star Wars or sasquatch would be very silly... as it is to me that atheists get on a forum to rail against Christians..... did you catch the analogy that time?

That it needed explanation only proves that it was a poor analogy. I got it, but if you are going to use analogies, you need to understand how they work. Otherwise, they disprove your point.

I'm curious, do you think Star Wars is real? That is the only way your analogy works.

Actually.. I thought I said very clearly that an atheist railing against Christians was LIKE me railing against Sasquatch believers or Star Wars believers. Now.. I never claim to be an English grammar expert.... But I'm pretty sure that the origianl sentence I typed is the definition of an analogy.... the word LIKE is key. Come on now!! I'm a math guy and I know that!! lol

This simple... If I believe in something that you think is silly to believe, why would you waste so much time and energy saying it's silly. It should be so meaningless to you that you would never even bother to visit the religion forum...

Is that better?

Generally, much of what is posted here isn't relevant to me. But like the atheists, when people start posting ridiculous statements like "the earth is only 6000 years old", I have to step in. It is dangerous thinking.

Star Wars people and Trekkies don't scare me. Evangelical fundamentalists do.

It's "dangerous thinking" to think the world is only 6000 years old?? I don't see that as such a dangerous statement that you sould feel the need to jump in to save anybody. I mean, I don't agree with that statement either, but "dangerous"? See.. I say it's dangerous(whether you believe in God or not) that we debate semantics about when life begins.... Think about it, if pro-choicers are wrong millions of babies have have been murdered, where-as if pro-lifers are wrong, no harm done, we have simply errored on the side of caution. That's the logical, common sense view on that, or at least it should be.
But If someone says the earth is only 6000 years old or 4.5 billion years old, or somewhere in between, no harm comes from either of those... We'll just all laugh and say, "hmmmm, oh well, good to see you and have a great eternity" ya know? The age of the earth is meaningless, and is really an absurd topic to be such a devisive one.

and Star Wars folks and Trekkies scare the crap out of me... you ever seen footage of those conventions??? W----O-----W..... hahaha
