You'll have to excuse me, seeing as how I've never seen or heard anyone on the right claim that using a gun to rob someone is a 2nd amendment right, but I'm not surprised a leftie would try to slip that by. The left thinks anything they want to do is their "right".

I wasn't talking about you, I was talking about the robber.  Since you voted for BO, the joke is on you.

I wouldn't have voted for Romney if he was the only one on the ballot. Seems the majority of the country voted for Obama, if I'm remembering correctly. You'd be hard pressed to find someone more interested in the survival of this country than me. If you ever had a chance to sit down and talk to me, you'd find we agree on more things than we disagree on. On the other hand there's things we would never agree on.

The majority of the US is on some type of government assistance.  There's your BO base.  We will never be able to agree that BO has been or ever will be good for this country.

Even dumber is a 7-11 robber.

With their timed safes just putting out a little cash every once in awhile, 7-11 robbers are super dangerous.

And in an urban dog eat dog environment, 7-11 will send their in house private investigators to grease the palms of the "hood" until they flush out the perpetrator.

And all the time, they're on really good candid cameras.

At least if someone's going to risk getting caught, the gain should be worth more than a $50 hit.

And 7-11 robbers will do enough crimes of some kind that they always serve time in jail.

Bank robbery is a federal crime -- longer sentence and no possibility of parole.  Plus, nasty items like exploding dye packs and direct panic lines to the police.

it's not necesasril a fed crime. It has to meet certain criteria before a fed prosecutor will take the case.

But don't you imagine he broke Federal gun laws?  Plus one thing goes wrong and someone gets hurt you are looking at the same time for sure.

Doubt that feds would prosecute low level crimes..  They usually don't prosecute unless at least $250,000 or more is involved. More likely, $500,000.

I wouldn't have voted for obama or any democrat, if he/she was the only one on the ballot, so there you have it. The majority of the country wanted obama? Majority of what?  It wasn't a landslide, a run away, or anything else, and I truly believe that in an honest and fair election he would never have been put back in office. No one interested in the welfare of other people, or the survival of this country, or anything besides their own pocketbooks, would have voted for him. I don't see you and I agreeing on very much.

Best I know you hate it, but you live in a democratic republic. The majority doesn't have to be overwhelming. The election was fair. You have no proof to the contrary and if the Republican party had even the tiniest bit of evidence that it wasn't they would have raged all the way to the SC to have the elections over turned. You are delusional and you keep making this claim over and over as if you say it enough it will be true. Yet, it will never be so.

Can there not be a discussion on this forum without you turning it into a left vs right argument? Probably not as long as you are around. You are like a broken record playing the same old sad song.

My question as well for anyone calling names, insulting those who don't agree with him/her, not one in particular.  This story is about an armed robbery, and it isn't about all the other things most were arguing about.  Why call names?  So one of us voted one way and one voted another, one wants one thing done with gun control and another wants something else.  Maybe one goes to one church and one goes to another church or stays home.  So what?

I didn't see a lot of compassion for the poor person robbed or that they are now traumatized at that location, and most of the posts were just arguing and insulting.  Bringing people together as a community working for common goals seems to me to be more productive than pitting ourselves against each other.  Everything just plain isn't about being right or winning, politics, or convincing people we are the only right people. Just a thought...not saying discussion can't be a good thing, but the names and insult turn threads into street fights over...I don't even know.

The older ones among us might remember the song, One Tin Soldier.  I am reminded of this part especially...

Now the valley cried with anger,
"Mount your horses! Draw your sword!"
And they killed the mountain-people,
So they won their just reward.

Now they stood beside the treasure,
On the mountain, dark and red.
Turned the stone and looked beneath it...
"Peace on Earth" was all it said.

Go ahead and hate your neighbor,
Go ahead and cheat a friend.
Do it in the name of Heaven,
You can justify it in the end.
There won't be any trumpets blowing
Come the judgement day,
On the bloody morning after....
One tin soldier rides away.

What is the reward if we "win" and feel right here?  Most of us are from the same basic community and all we can do is call names and argue?  Surely we can do better than that, or at least I sincerely hope so.  A Sonic was robbed and that is awful.  I hope they find who did it and put him away whoever it was.

_______

Frog, where have you been for as long as there have been Republicans & Democrats? There’s never been an adult discussion about Politics. It always turns into an argument, bullying, & calling each other names. That’s why I refuse to discuss it the majority of the time. One of the easiest ways to lose a friend is to discuss politics if you’re on opposite sides.

You can’t bring people together as a community, working for common goals if it involves Politics. It is about being right, winning, & convincing people they [Republican/Democrat] are the only right people.

Same with Christianity, only one domination has it right. Everyone else is going to hell.

I have a few family members that claim they are [strong] Christians but will tell you in the same proud breath that they’re a Democrat & that they voted for Obama. You have to be one or the other, you can’t be both.

You need to get out more.

Are you serious? You think you can't be a Christian and vote Democratic? I did not think you had such a twisted opinion Semi?

  This is ridiculous!!!

I do get out, actually.  it really is possible to be civil.  But I agree that is hard and I don't talk politics or religion usually.  It is definitely possible to bring people of differing political and/or religious views together to work toward common goals IF all concerned (or at least enough) want to accomplish positive and not come to get it all their own way.  It has happened many times, but it just depends on who you bring to the table and if they have open minds and are willing to listen and compromise...respect is really possible.  But I don't usually discuss those topics either.

This hasn't been a Christian-bashing anything, and calling names doesn't help anything.  There has been bashing, but it isn't as if it's been directed specifically toward Christians.

And yes, a person can be a Democrat, strong Christian, and have voted for Mr. Obama.  I know several.

Why Semi you little racist. Tell the truth you don’t like Obama because he is .5 black. I still hear “Christians” call him that “n”. I also hear  heathen refer to him as that damm “n”.  Church people don’t like blacks and  are stupid enough to have thought ryan and Romney would have stopped “murder of little children” in its tracks.

I voted for the demo’s based on what I saw two years before the last election; a recovering economy. As it turns out I was right; the economy is growing on every front.

My vote against the pubs was because of what you see happening today; the rep house is divisive to the point they want to hurt the nation in spite to end us all in hell.  Repubs hate people.  They always are gnawing at their own leg simply because the love the taste of blood. I guarantee you this, there is not the single republican  that is bound anywhere but hell for eternity being armed with the hate for others. Yes my dear semi you are a racist and bigot as you are accused.  Repent from your evil ways you little devil from Colbert County.
