and Elected us a President with no Morals at all, I think that he is a Closet Muslim, if he is elected in 2012 you can write the U.S. off,
he already served his 2 terms ending in 2008, he cant be elected again
Actually according to the Constitution Article II, Section 1 (1.1) the President is elected to a term of 4 (four) years. The XXII (22nd) Amendment Section 1 (March 1, 1951, F.R. Doc 51-2940, 16 F.R. 2019) then limited the time that the President could serve to Two Terms or 8 years
President Obama will have finished his 1st term in 2012, being elected in 2008. Effectively though his power and effect upon our nation can be greatly bridled and controlled if the November 2010 election in which 1/3 of the Senate and the whole House will be voted upon thereby giving the opportunity for the Republicans to gain control of the House and/or Senate.
Since each Senator serves a 6 year term and 1/3rd of the senate comes up for election every two years it can take longer for control of the Senate to be done.
I do though realize that you are trying here to refer back to President George Bush who has done not near the damage that this current President is doing. George Bush also has kept decorum, as a past President, something that Jimmy Carter and Bill Clinton could well learn a lesson from. People always point to Joe Wilson due to his calling President Obama a "Liar" which was (and is) out of order and not keeping with the decorum of their position yet the President, who should know better and should be above all of them, did FAR WORSE in his State of the Union speech to Congress when he belittled a captive Supreme Court because he disagreed with one of their decisions and then Congress applauded in their agreement. This was a far more egregious violation of Decorum by someone in a position much greater in power that should have known better but then when he is uncertain about the number of states we have saying we have 57 as he said, instead of the 50 we do have then what can you expect from an inexperienced novice. George Bush at least kept the Office of the President one of Respect and continues to be respectful something that Carter, Clinton, and yes President Obama could well learn from. If not for the XVII (17th) Amendment, which I believe took a huge part of the States power away from the States the Senate would not be an elected position anyway but rather according to the framers of the Constitution and founding fathers the Senate was to be composed of 2 representatives of each state and both would be appointed out of each states Legislature.
One might wonder if this wasn't the best way to do it and if we would be in better condition, as a country, if the Senate was still appointed by the State Legislature rather than elected by the people.
I wonder how many folks knew this? I think it shameful that a majority of elected officials would fail a Civics test and don't even know about the Constitution that they are supposedly bound by. No wonder we get so many crazy laws and find ourselves in such trouble today.
In fact IF our President and Congress and Judicial branches operated only by the Constitutional powers that were given to them then Row vs. Wade would not be an issue nor would it be "law" as the Judicial branch never was given the ability or power to "make Law" which Row vs. Wade effectively did. Congress, given their powers and Checks and Balances could have corrected that mistake and put the Judicial Branch in Check but they failed to do their job and be a Check against the Judicial making law.
If the Congress and President also abided by the Constitution then we would never have had one Bail Out of anyone. We would not have sent Aid to Haiti or any other country due to a disaster nor would we have even sent aide, in the form of money to Katrina or any other region.
The founding Fathers, in their wording and writings, with respect to the Constitution never gave the Government power to do such. Such aide and help was to come on a tiered basis. First Families would take care of Families, second as Families couldn't' cope or was overwhelmed then friends would be the next level followed by the Church then Neighborhoods, local level cities or districts, then the States and after all that if needed the Federal Government then could act. Now we have a Government and Congress which throws away money without thinking.
We have a country and Government that has strayed so far from the Constitution that they are supposed to uphold and be governed by that one wonders how we could have gotten so far away.
Aw yes ... one reason is Education (another entity that was never meant to be controlled by the Federal Government but rather maintained at the State level (X 0r 10 (tenth) Amendment, which reads.
Amendment X "The powers not delegated to the United States by the Constitution, nor prohibited by it to the states, are reserved to the states respectively, or to the people."We have allowed our Educational system to become so inept and failing that no longer is Civics taught like it should, no longer is memorizing or studying the Constitution as it was years ago and the more we relegate History to Political Correctness eliminating the study of men like John Adams, Thomas Jefferson, Benjamin Franklin, and George Washington as well as Post Founding Fathers, President Abraham Lincoln and we allow our students to graduate knowing very little about this countries founding and it's government then no wonder we elect leaders and politicians as we have and end up with laws and policies as we end up with.
