Why is bill here?

I don't have a problem "talking to him" and I don't have to read his sermons to do it.  I have no idea what "spirit" you mean.

Typical Jennifer. No wonder her politics are as messed up as her spiritual life. She admits right here that she can talk, but she refuses to listen. Kind of hard to have a conversation when you refuse to hear what the other person is trying to say. She's a good little atheist, and a good little far-right nay-sayer. "My way or the highway!" is her motto.

Just think of all the things she is missing in life by ignoring anyone but her own muddled self.

And in runs old oh no to stick her nose in. My politics and my life are just fine thank you. 

Hands over her ears, eyes shut tight, stomping her feet and yelling, "I'm not listening!" Yep, she's just fine, thank you.

He lives in California, I guess he can't find anyone out there to listen to his s**t.

His problem:

Attention ***** or sometimes media ***** is a derogatory term used in various social situations usually given to a person that seeks attention any degree, regardless of whether the attention has positive or negative connotations. In some instances, it is considered more derogatory than the simple term *****.^[1]

I wonder why I reply to anything Bill says. He doesn't listen, there's no room for the chance that he could be wrong about some things. I've learned alot here, most good, from the folks that are not so judgmental, most bad, from Bill, in that if you don't agree with him, then you're going to Hell. Most folks here show a loving, compassionate non-judgmental attitude, with alot of kindness thrown in, from both sides of the belief/non-belief system. Bill doesn't know what those things mean.

He thinks using the term "friend" & ending with a "God bless you" makes his message of judgment ok. He's not my friend & I take his God Bless with a grain of salt. You just have to feel sorry for someone like him.

I posted that I don't read his sermons. I read the first few sentances or paragraph to get the gist and then I skip the sermon. But I have to agree with semi, he never has anything to "say" worth reading and neither do you. If you want to talk about messed up politics we can discuss yours.

You either accept his infinite wisdom as his god's right-hand man or you're hellbound, plain and simple. Oh, and of course it'll be YOUR fault, too.

Nobody on earth knows god like Bill.  Just ask him.

I see Bill as more of a right hand man of Satan than God. But of course, we all know he believes it's God.

Actually, the guys from Tuscumbia were much tougher.   But, then, none of those guys ran around only in Noo Yawk undershirts.  We Southern boys knew how to actually wear a shirt.  But, hey, Noo Yawk is as Noo Yawk does!  Right?

But, Puppy, I am happy you are in the South now.  Maybe some of the good Southern English and manners will one day rub off on you.  Yes, I know some things are hard to believe -- but, one day you maybe could be an almost true Southerner.

Jenn, I like you, really I do. You don't tip toe around anyone & say what you think. I admire anyone that speaks their mind. But I gotta say this. If you would give O No a chance, you just might come to like her. She's been my sounding board several times & has always given me wise advice. She's an ok kinda gal.

Thank you for reading part of my posts.  Keep up the good work -- and, maybe add a sentence more each day -- and one day you will be able to actually read a full post without losing concentration.  ADD can be cured -- or, at least, improved upon.  But, it does take some effort.

I'll make you a deal.  I will keep on posting -- and you keep on trying to get past the first two or three "sentances" and we'll just keep working together until you can read and spell like an adult.

Give her a chance? She "started" with me. I never had a problem with her, hardly even read her posts until she started on me. Then I told her what I thought of her and put her on ignore.  I don't read her threads or reply to her when she posts to others, but she runs to every thread I make with her nasty comments and she jumps right in when others make their little snarky comments to me.  I don't get in the middle of her and anyone else, never post "in agreement" when someone is arguing with her, what I have to say about her I say to her, but she can't say the same because she's right there in the middle when someone is "talking" about me.  She talks about my politics but they're no different than others that she is supposedly "friends" with. She talks about how I talk to bill but you know yourself I am no rougher on him than anyone else, but she has zero problems with the really nasty ones that post on here. She jumps right in with them. She just got teed off at me because I never fawned and swooned over her.

Bill, if you were to ever visit the South, you would find that a lot of the men here wear what is called Muscle Shirts, what you sarcastically call undershirts. I don't know if Muscle Shirts even existed 70 years or so ago when you were what you call "a Southern boy".

The good Southern English & manners you speak of, you no longer possess. Just because you may have been born & lived in the South years ago doesn't make you a Southerner.

BTW, the women lov'em, most guys that wear them look so sexy!

Bill posts on here because here he is a big fish in a small pond.  If he posted on any of the big-time religion forums, his ego would suffer deflation.

I don't know about politics, that's one subject I try to stay away from, though I will say I'm a conservative.   (I hope that little bit of info doesn't turn anyone against me, )

Who knows, you two may "agree to disagree" & turn out to be friends. I hope so, cause I like both of you.

Marlon Brando was born in 1924 - so I would put this say mid-late 40's? I have a picture of my dad in the Pacific (which would be somewhere 1941-45) with his standard issue undershirt like Marlon is wearing.   So 70 years ago, yes they existed.

What Bill doesn't get is that men in the South don't wear shirts in the summer.  Even the fat ugly ones, so anything - and I see these all the time - that covers is welcome. 

You have to forgive Bill, he lives on the left coast, and is out of touch with reality.

Semi, if you're referring to what is colloquially called a "wife-beater," you must have never seen any old Jimmy Cagney or Humphrey Bogart movies. The correct term in most of the English speaking world is "vest," but many in the States simply said undershirt until the ubiquitous tee-shirt arrived.
