This is my public service to everyone, and my explanation of why you should never respond to NBD. (I'm doint it now, but not again)

After observing NDB's posts over time, I've come to a simple conclusion. NDB is not a local person, or anyone who has ever had any connection to this area or this paper. NDB is working. NBD probably does this on any forum he/she can find. The purpose of this is not to get people to click on the link, although that's a plus. The purpose is to establish links to sites on pages with lots of content. By responding, you are adding content, and improving the search relevancy of the site NBD links. Just so you know.

And all this time I thought he was on a work release program from the Insitute of the Criminally Insane.
I agree, don't go to that trash. His alternet blogs and Huff-n-Puff Post threads do nothing but attempt to legitimize their liberal rhetoric.

Let me see, he is not a teabagger and speaks out in opposition of Sarah Palin, is this a twisted logic of reverse "You might be a redneck?" Are you saying anyone who doesn't goose step to Rush Limbaugh and Fox News COULDN'T be from the shoals?
I am!!!!

I shouldn't even respons, but I'll explain.

There are plenty of politically misguided people locally, and this forum has proven that repeatedly. Where NBD tips his hand is not in political idealogy. NBD almost never responds to the comments in threads he/she starts, and when he/she does there's very little substance. That is because NBD doesn't care about how people respond, just THAT they respond. Additionally, NBD periodically shows up, starts several new threads that always link to the same site, and then disappears. NBD never comments on local issues, and a die-hard liberal (as NBD claims to be) would have plenty to complain about with such conservative local and state politics. It's pretty obvious really.

I'm done now, as I'm only helping NDB spam the forum.
Most of the informed have already seen this list but just to stake it down one more time for those in the back of the class.

1. Oil rig owner has made $270 million off the oil leak
2. BP has a terrible safety record
3. Oil spills are just a cost of doing business for BP
4. The Interior Department was at best, neglectful, and at worst, complicit
5. Clean-up prospects are dismal
6. BP has no real cleanup plan
7. Both Transocean and BP are trying to take away survivors' right to sue
8. BP bets on risk to employees to save money -- and doesn't care if they get sick
9. Environmental damage could even include a climatological catastrophe
10. No one knows what to do and it will happen again
Here's the reality of the matter -- for as long as offshore drilling is legal, oil spills will happen. Coastlines will be decimated, oceans destroyed, economies ruined, lives lost. Oil companies have little to no incentive to prevent such disasters from happening, and they use their money to buy government regulators' integrity.

Deepwater Horizon is not an anomaly -- it's the norm.

I don't think millions of lives lost in the name of money is anything to laugh about actually. These corporations have no worries because they no longer have a set of rules or consequences they can't get out of with a cash or check.
I believe the mistake that a lot of people make when they think about corporations, is they think you know, corporations are like us. They think they have feelings, they have politics, they have belief systems, they really only have one thing, the bottom line - how to make as much money as they can in any given quarter. That's it.

In the end we'll look back and find that in our search for wealth and prosperity, we created something that's going to destroy us.

Old yellah aka newworldview777,

Nice try in covering your tracks. I'm not buying it. I hear the WH is looking for an assistant for Biden. They need someone even dumber than him to make him look smart. Sounds like an excellent career move for you.

LMAO Right I would gladly help Mr Biden I think he is a courageous man for stepping up for a job most of us wouldn't want. I do believe that we have a major problem at hand and it's the Right wing agenda. Propaganda is everywhere On Fox, MSNBC, CNN, the church, and is a great place to get brainwashed. Fox hides the fact that Monsanto delivers the RbST bovine growth hormone to cattle and this catalyst is absorbed by the human body causing cancer. The European Union and Canada won't eat our beef. Anything wrong with that?

The war is on for your mind.

Fixed News preys on the small minds of the viewers as exemplified by the juvenile comments on this forum from anyone who dares not regurgitate the propoganda they are being brainwashed with on a daily basis. Read the posts by the followers on here and it is obvious that Fox is not just slanted; IT IS DANGEROUS!
I agree fully Rocky.
Check this out.
Any relief payment plan established in the wake of the worst environmental accident ever was bound to have its flaws, but this goes to a whole new level of wrong.

According to Gulf resident Kindra Arnesen, who turned whistleblower and full-time activist when she saw how many people were put out of work by the spill, BP will deduct money from individual payments on claims for lost income if the claimant refuses to work in assisting the spill response.

Reading from a letter she’d received from BP, Arnesen quoted the company’s line:

“BP will continue its efforts to pay legitimate claims for losses incurred due to the Deepwater Horizon incident. However, federal law clearly provides for adjustments for all income resulting from the incident, all income from alternative employment or businesses undertaken [...] and potential income from alternative employment or businesses not undertaken but reasonably available.”

In other words, if you are a fisherman who was put out of work by BP and you do not elect to work in their employ, but you still file a claim for losses over the Deepwater Horizon disaster, that claim could be significantly less than the actual damages incurred.

Yes, that's the rule. Turn down a job, don't get paid for turning it down.
Prior to the government declaring Gulf of Mexico beaches no-go zones for journalists, a group of concerned citizens traveled to Grand Isle, Louisiana, and scooped up samples of sea water and sent them to a lab to be tested.
“The preliminary analysis was done at an academic analytical chemistry laboratory,” they write on a YouTube post. “Benzene and other highly toxic contaminants were very low however the concentration of propylene glycol was between 360 and 440 parts per million. Just 25 parts per million is known to kill most fish and propylene glycol is just one of many ingredients found in Corexit. In short, the Gulf is being poisoned by BP’s usage of the dispersants even after the EPA asked them to stop back in May.”

According to the Material Safety Data Sheet, exposure to propylene glycol causes liver abnormalities and kidney damage. It “can easily penetrate the skin, and can weaken protein and cellular structure. In fact, PG penetrates the skin so quickly that the EPA warns factory workers to avoid skin contact, to prevent brain, liver, and kidney abnormalities,” reports the Anti-Aging Choices website.

In addition to killing marine life, Corexit is a threat to the residents of Grand Isle, according to a lab tech who talked with the citizen journalists by telephone.

Corexit 9527 is defined as a chronic and acute health hazard by the EPA. The 9527 formula includes 2-butoxyethanol, said to be the cause of health problems experienced by cleanup workers after the 1989 Exxon Valdez oil spill, and propylene glycol. Exxon Valdez worker Merle Savage told FastCompany.com the symptoms included nausea, vomiting, liver damage, and dizziness.

In June, CNN reported that the vast majority of those who worked to clean up the 1989 Exxon Valdez oil spill in Alaska are now dead.

Feds Block Local Authorities From Implementaing Oil Spill Cleanup Plans

Scientists and government officials fired back at Louisiana Gov. Bobby Jindal today, saying homegrown plans he is backing to protect the state’s delicate coastline could actually do more harm than good.

Jindal, a Republican, has criticized the Obama administration for weeks, using fiery language to accuse the government of a lackluster and slow response to the oil spill crisis.

Jindal flew over Barataria Bay on this 79th day of since BP’s Deepwater Horizon well exploded, sending up to 60,000 barrels of oil a day into the Gulf of Mexico. He was there to take another look at the environmentally sensitive coastline where oil has been encroaching for weeks. It is in that location that he and other Louisiana officials want to build their latest controversial attempt to stop the oil from reaching their coast — a rock barrier.

Jindal supports a plan to build artificial islands made of tons of rocks and boulders, which he says would slow the flow of oil into the bay, but federal officials have refused the state the necessary permissions to build, and that has triggered an increasingly heated political confrontation.

“We don’t have time for meetings, we don’t have time for red tape,” Jindal has said. “Get in the game to win.”

Jindal has used similar highly critical language to poke at the Obama administration for more than a month.
