I see people that claim to be a Christian on here daily,  in some form or another, brag about the good they do. Helping someone across the street, carrying someone to the doctor or for groceries, witnessing to someone, having contact with an "angel", etc. Do they really not see how foolish their bragging looks to others?

In case you don't know, there's a scripture that speaks against it. But then again, that's just one more scripture that some "Christians" seem to ignore.

Matthew 6:1-34

“Beware of practicing your righteousness before other people in order to be seen by them, for then you will have no reward from your Father who is in heaven. “Thus, when you give to the needy, sound no trumpet before you, as the hypocrites do in the synagogues and in the streets, that they may be praised by others. Truly, I say to you, they have received their reward. But when you give to the needy, do not let your left hand know what your right hand is doing, so that your giving may be in secret. And your Father who sees in secret will reward you. “And when you pray, you must not be like the hypocrites. For they love to stand and pray in the synagogues and at the street corners, that they may be seen by others. Truly, I say to you, they have received their reward.

Semi you should be a preacher. You have hit on a most important point that is taken lightly by Bible folk and atheist alike.  I’ve seen recently violation of this scripture to the point I gagged.  A hi-foo-loo-ten  group begrudging, after the fact, a small donation.  I also have been appalled by the local atheist group crowing about their church giving away coats. The point you quoted should have jurisdiction with  believer, heathen and the confused

I don't know if "yourself" is one of us or all of us (I'm not quite there yet) but I think the only reason an Atheist keeps talking about Atheism is because of the people on here that keep insisting the Atheist believe in some God. You just can't make people understand that Atheism has nothing to do with any God.

Did I say that correctly?

Semi,

I have noticed that the mere mention of atheism seems to get Chuck in a tizzy. Apparently he thinks the subject should never be broached. Luckily he doesn't have the authority to deny peoples freedom of speech.

I have?, for 4 years? Wow!

As for the rest of your post, I spewed Pepsi all over me when I read that. BTW, what does a bald woman have to do with there being no God?

Ya must not be doin' it right, Chuckles..

My woman screams *my* name....

"God" is a relative term.

If you are drinking Pepsi you are wrong.  Even Christians who drink Pepsi are going to Hell.  God doesn't have time for all that. We've discussed before baldness and atheists.  Atheist are mad at God for not having hair.  Heck I'd be mad too.  God wanted you to have hair and love him but your mother's father didn't have hair either due to his lack of faith or his mother's father's.  It's a vicious circle.

We aren't talking about the unsightly hair on your face and arms.

We don't and never did have unsightly hair on our face and arms, just what's normal. Maybe you and your old lady should look into electrolysis, then you wouldn't have to fight about which one of you shaves first in the morning. And if you could comprehend what you read, you'd have seen I said the hair on our heads

Actually, it would have been mother's brother that didn't have hair.

What atheist church was giving away coats? I missed the presence of an atheist church crowing...sounds interesting.

Would that be similar to the seeming need some have to talk about their Christianity every five minutes?  This comes in all varieties...why pick on one?  Some people brag, and it's not just one group or another.

Well, the thread is about bragging, so I would say you are on topic, anyway.  So how long exactly does someone's hair have to be before she will pass your inspection?  If your partner got sick and lost her hair you would never sleep with her again?  And why is this about being bald anyway?

Atheist is singular.  Atheists would be the proper plural form unless you mean only one atheist got mad?

Who told you that?  There very definitely is a plural; it is "atheists." Never heard of the buffalo theorem and whatever it is will not change the fact that "atheist" does indeed have a plural form.
