There were multiple reported sightings of agents with the Department of Homeland Security at several Tea Party-led IRS protests in states like Missouri, Florida, Illinois and Indiana. The rallies that occurred across the country on Tuesday were sparked by the IRS’ unfair targeting of conservative groups — one of the several scandals the Obama administration is dealing with.

What is unclear though is why federal officials felt the Tea Party presence required more than the attention of local law enforcement.

These photos, one showing “armed” DHS guards, were reportedly taken at the St. Louis IRS protest:

In Maitland, Fla., just north of Orlando, a Tea Party-led IRS protest also reportedly attracted the Department of Homeland Security. Photos apparently snapped at that particular protest show at least one DHS vehicle at the site of the rally.

In one of the photos, a women poses in front of the DHS SUV with a sign that reads: “Hey IRS! Don’t target me, bro!”

A woman in Fort Wayne, Ind., found herself all alone at the scheduled rally outside the IRS office on Tuesday. However, she was reportedly accompanied by three visible security guards in the IRS parking lot, which included a Homeland Security officer.

Then there’s this photo of a DHS vehicle passing by that was supposedly taken at the IRS protest in Downers Grove, Ill. The vehicle reportedly passed by the protest twice.

It would be helpful to find out if DHS presence was customary during rowdy “Occupy” protests, which many times spun out of control and resulted in property damage and injuries (not to mention drug use). The Blaze will reach out to DHS for comment on the matter on Wednesday.

The Tea Party protests on Tuesday appear to have concluded without any incidents.

Because most of these tea party nuts are so stupid they are a threat to their own life and others.  The fact that most of these people are on social security and medicare and they are for reducing spending and in some cases eliminating the program, such as medicare, shows they don't realize that they are in fact, working to hurt themselves and their families economic survivability.   This clearly proves they are incompetent mentally and are a threat to themselves and others.  Throw in the fact a lot of them tote around guns publicly ranting about feeding the tree of liberty with blood, cleary shows many of them are a threat to society.  Most will eventually wander home after being distracted by bright shiney objects along the way, but many will stand around in a trance, thinking a dog is telling them to attack someone.

And I see evil, you have no clue about the tea party. Maybe if the democrits are ever targeted we can all have a laugh at their expense. After all, you described the democrats quite well with your statement that- "many will stand around in a trance, thinking a dog is telling them to attack someone". You can add to that description of demmings, and while they wait for their next handout.

evil,

Polls showed that tea party members are, in the main, better educated and economically better off than average.  Their one mass meeting in DC was the largest in history, resulted in no criminal acts (DC police complimented them on that), and they cleaned up after themselves.  Left wingers and Earth Day types leave mounds of debris.  The Tea Party goals are fiscal responsibility, not reneging on promised benefit that people have paid for.

Google is your friend - just type in "tea party education level" - New York Times / CBS News Poll at that

Poll Finds Tea Party Backers Wealthier and More Educated

And before you say thats one poll  and not polls - Here is another from CNN -

The tea party movement: Who are they?

(CNN) - Our brand new CNN/ORC International poll of Republicans across the country has some fascinating numbers on tea party activists. Some of these numbers probably will surprise you.

For one thing, Republicans are almost evenly divided between those who identify with the tea party movement and those who don’t. We asked Republicans: “Are you an active member or a supporter of the tea party movement?”

Of the respondents, 49% said yes; 51% said no. It doesn’t get a whole lot closer than that.

The poll also showed that tea party Republicans are more educated, older and more “born again” than non-tea party Republicans. More men also identify themselves as tea party Republicans.

Cap’n as it turns out the ‘poll’ you referred to , dated Sept 15, 2011 before the election did in fact show how educated the tea babies were. They lost the election hands down. When you make up your own polls and then believe in their accuracy is one of the reasons we don’t put repub idiots in charge of anything.

BTW Cap'n keep dire informed. Thanks.

I see why Dire blocked you. Since the polls were conducted by both CNN and CBS, not by the tea party, I cant see how you say they made up their own polls.  Whether it was before the election or not is irrelevant,  do you think the demographics of the tea party changed just because Obama won the election?

The only inkling of truth in your entire post was "They lost the election" and yes, I purposely didnt include the 'hands down' remark, considering the popular vote was 51/47 - far from 'hands down' by any means.

Im sure direstraits will get a laugh or two from your response now that he can see it

Cap’n, I’m very aware of my surroundings and it doesn’t take too long for me to pull the instability out of someone. In the case of dire I knew he actually believed that his opinion should not be questioned. I have many-a-extended-kin who nearly died when it was announced that Obama had won.  I had warned them for two years that Obama would be POTUS yet when they awoke on xmas morning to no gifts under the tree they were virtually hospitalized.

Hey, goober. When has the Tea Party ever harmed anyone?

Compare, and contrast that to the Occupy crowd.
