Obviously these folks haven't been to a livestock auction lately. Last month when I was at a auction buying cattle, the horses were selling for $25 a head. The highest paid for one that day was $40 and it was a miniature. The auctioneer pointed to a guy in the front row saying, "I know you have a colt, do you see what you get for them when they are grown?"
Last week my uncle was at a sell in Tennessee and said the highest he saw a horse go for was $45.
People can't afford to feed them.
