<<<McAllen, Texas (CNN) -- All evidence pointed police to one conclusion: A priest had killed a beautiful 25-year-old schoolteacher. Searchers had found the lifeless body of former Miss South Texas, Irene Garza, face down in a canal in her hometown of McAllen. She'd disappeared on the day before Easter after going to Sacred Heart Catholic Church for confession.

*    *         *

Questioned by police, Feit [the priest to whom Ms. Garza went for confession] failed lie detector tests. What was also suspicious was that just 24 days before the killing, Feit had been arrested for attacking another young woman at a church in a town about 10 miles from McAllen. Feit pleaded no contest to misdemeanor aggravated assault. A judge found him guilty and fined him $500 with no prison time.>>>

Irene Garza was murdered in 1960.

The current district attorney, after refusing to act for a long time, finally presented the case to a grand jury.  His presentation was shabby and incomplete, apparently by design.  The grand jury did not indict Feit.  A new district attorney might well be in office after the next election.  The case is still open and the family of Ms. Garza hopes a new DA will steadfastly pursue an indictment.

Feit still lives, in his 80s, having left the priesthood long ago.  He was hustled off to a monastery shortly after Ms. Garza was killed.  A monk at the monastery has stated publicly that he was told by church officials that Feit had killed a young woman.  Asked why he (the monk) did not report it at that time, he responded by saying that "We did as we were told" [by the church].

I yam what I yam and that's all I yam--but it is enough!

Not looking like she'll "get justice", and that makes her no different than thousands of others who never get justice. What does it matter who they think killed her? Plenty of people are murdered and their killers allowed to walk free after a few years, or months, to kill again. How many days did "ted is dead" kennedy spend in jail after mary jo kopechne's death?

If a grand jury is confidential than how does anyone know it was a shabby and incomplete presentation?

For one thing, both the monk who had confirmed that he was told by a Catholic Church  official that Feit was sent to the monastery was summoned as a potential grand jury witness, but the DA never called him to testify.  Ditto the priest who served in McAllen when Feit did and who came forward apologetically, after decades of silence, to say that he also knew Feit had committed the murder.  He was summoned but not called to take the stand and testify.

A slide viewer belonging to the priest was found with the victim in the canal where her body was dumped, as were two candlesticks that had been in the church just days earlier.

How brazenly callous and asinine of you.  A decent person would wish that all murderers were brought to justice and sentenced to appropriate punishments.  Only a disordered dingbat would apply the absurd reasoning that you have offered.  If Ted Kennedy did not get what he deserved, that in no way means that other guilty persons should go free. If you were the relatives of the victim in this case, you would not entertain such harsh and inhumane views.

Pointing out the obvious is in no way being callous or saying the guilty should go free. It's the opposite.  I would love for all murderers to be brought to justice and sentenced appropriately, and if it wasn't for you bleeding heart liberals it would happen more often.  I recently posted on my thread about the couple getting a ridiculous "sentence" for murdering their daughter by withholding medical care. There is another couple mentioned that killed TWO of their children by withholding medical care. Where's the justice for them? Face it, you wanted to take yet another shot at catholics by dragging up an old murder. Get over it, there are no telling how many cases of coc members, as with all denominations, murdering their spouses or others, and being supported and protected by their church and getting away with it. IMO only a disordered dingbat would keep digging for junk like this just to have something to make a thread so they could dig at another denomination. The coc as a whole is as crazy as ********* rats. Spend some of that energy working on them.

If Texas is like Alabama, the family may sit in on the proceedings. Yes, their opinion is subjective, but it can still be telling.

In Alabama only the grand jury, the DA and the witness is allowed in the grand jury room during testimony.

Oh! Good God, Kate!! Get over yourself!!!

Semi, do you compare the passive death of anyone who didn't receive medical treatment to the aggressive violent murder? I don't; if you do fine, but I'm sure most don't.

And this from a woman that made fun of my dead child, wanted to see the obituary as proof I wasn't lying, & accused me of talking about it all the time!!!! I feel sorry for you lady, you are a piece of work!

Ok, Miss Katie Poo...here you go!

Jenn ask you approx. 3 times what obit, what child would that be, & you finally answered with this.

“Baby's obit? I have no idea how old the alleged child was. If older than one, it wouldn't  be correctly called a baby, so I certainly may have erred in that reference. Apologies if the supposed child was not a baby.”

And BTW, you seem to think if a child is older than one, it shouldn't be called a baby. News flash, lady. My Dad called me baby up until the day he died. I was in my late 30's.

Is this woman not evil, does anyone besides me not see that as evil??

Jenn was the only woman on this forum that bothered to speak up & defend me. She knew, being a Mother, how that would probably hurt me. She came out against your evilness when speaking such ugliness against a Mother that lost a child. Doesn’t matter what your reasoning was, lady, it still speaks of your evilness. And in your evilness, you attack Jenn for defending me.

I’m sure you will bring up what I was supposed to have said about your 3 dead friends that committed suicide. When you mentioned the color red, I said I had never heard of such junk, that you couldn’t wear red to a funeral.

Your friends were 3 grown women that choose to kill themselves. Nothing was more important to them than dying, not their children or husband if they had one! To kill one self is nothing more than a selfish act! My child didn’t choose to die. He didn't make the decision to die. Your great, wonderful, merciful God killed him!!

You’re about as evil as this God that you claim to love & be living for!! Now shut the hell up about me & mine!!!.

From Semi:

Your great, wonderful, merciful God killed him!!

+++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

Yes, God is merciful. God did not kill your child. God kills no one. Semi, there is not one person here, I would venture, over the age of 25 or 30, who has not lost a person dear to them. Some of us have lost the dearest in the world to us, and yet we go on each day.

BTW, suicide is an act of mental illness, it's may seem selfish to those who remain behind, but those who commit suicide are not thinking of us when they do it. In other words, they don't say, "What can I do to hurt those I love?"

_______

The fact I used the word merciful was sarcastic!! And yes, he did kill my child! I don't need you or anyone else to tell me any different!! And, yes, those women were selfish! They had a brain, they knew they could have gotten help, they just didn't want it. Mental illness is terrible, there is help for it. But you do have to get off your lazy azz & go get it.

I know a lady that killed herself because her husband was having an affair. (yes, I know this, there was a note) She left two precious children that needed her because the man she claimed to love couldn't keep his pants zipped.

Just please leave me alone, Kate, I've had about all of your evilness I can handle. I've cried my last tear over your ugliness.

No, but actually these instances were in Mississippi, not Alabama. The families were called necessary to assist the prosecution. I have no idea how a determination could or should be made, but I would imagine that it could be loosely used in many cases?

It is in the religion column because the apparent murderer/rapist was a priest and thus is associated with a religion, in this case an heretical one.

Godwin's law (also known as Godwin's Rule of **** Analogies or Godwin's Law of **** Analogies is an assertion made by Mike Godwin in 1990 that has become an Internet adage. It states: "As an online discussion grows longer, the probability of a comparison involving ****s or Hitler approaches 1." In other words, Godwin said that, given enough time, in any online discussion—regardless of topic or scope—someone inevitably makes a comparison to Hitler or the ****s.

Although in one of its early forms Godwin's law referred specifically to Usenet newsgroup discussions, the law is now often applied to any threaded online discussion, such as forums, chat rooms and blog comment threads, and has been invoked for the inappropriate use of **** analogies in articles or speeches. The law is sometimes invoked prescriptively to mark the end of a discussion when a **** analogy is made, with the writer who made the analogy being considered to have lost the argument.

Instead of the the Na-zis, I could have mentioned more recent examples of how the Catholic church supported the murderous dictatorships in South America, with few exceptions, but that certainly would be lost on some individuals, the very ones I was talking about. I tried top make it simple for you. A cut-and-paste quote is the best you can do in response, at any rate.

By the way, have you seen the DA on TV? He has that chipmunk face, permanently distorted as a result of habitual lying. That's probably how some of you look like.

Yep, it's him. Same old nastiness & evilness coming thru. I wonder if Satan whispered in his ear about the alter-ego or if he came up with it on his own?

Well, I did say I didn't know. Want to talk about no justice and cases in the past? Thousands of them. How about this one? This bloodthirsty ***** tortured and killed a teen in a ritual to insure protection for her and her 'boyfriend's gang's drug activities. She seems to be doing OK years later. Where is that kid's justice? Please don't even try to say that she's in prison and that's his justice. This came to mind when discussing spring break, and then you pull up this thread about a 55 year old murder.

Sara María Aldrete Villareal (born September 6, 1964) is a Mexican serial killer known as "La Madrina". Born in Matamoros, Tamaulipas, Mexico,[1] she attended high school in Brownsville, Texas, United States, while still living south of the border, and gained resident alien status so she could attend Texas Southmost College. She was known among her peers as a good student. She is 6 ft 1 in (1.85 m) tall and studied physical education, preparing to transfer to a university to earn a physical education teaching certification.

Adolfo Constanzo, a Cuban American fortune-teller and religious cult leader, introduced her to witchcraft and dark magic. He gave her the nickname "La Madrina", Spanish for "godmother", and initiated her into his cult, which was a conglomeration of Santería, Aztec warrior ritual, and Palo Mayombe, complete with blood sacrifices. Constanzo sexually assaulted and killed drug dealers and used their body parts for religious sacrifice ceremonies in an old warehouse near Matamoros. Many of his victims' body parts were cooked in a large pot called a nganga. Constanzo made Sara Aldrete second-in-command of his cult, and directed her to supervise his followers while he was out shipping marijuana over the border into the US.

In 1989 the killings grew more frequent and gained attention when affluent American tourist Mark J. Kilroy, a University of Texas student on Spring Break, was abducted. Constanzo, Aldrete and the rest of the cult went on the run when detectives discovered their 'shrine'. They found human hair, brains, teeth and skulls at the site of the murders. Eventually, the police found their hideout in Mexico city on May 6, 1989. After a shootout, Constanzo and one of his accomplices were shot and killed by another member of the cult, apparently at Constanzo's behest.[2]Aldrete was convicted of criminal association in 1990 and jailed for six years. In a second trial, she was convicted of several of the killings at the cult's headquarters, and sentenced to 30 years in prison. If Aldrete is ever released from prison, American authorities plan to prosecute her for the murder of Mark Kilroy.

Well, obviously it's the earthly justice that was being discussed.

Nothing funny about hypocrisy. You know why this case is now 55 years old and the justice still has not been served.

You said we still have time, but too early to "give it a rest" just yet.

As of right now, there's still a chance for justice to prevail in this case, but no chance for you, shameless hypocrites.

Instead of the the Na-zis, I could have mentioned more recent examples of how the Catholic church supported the murderous dictatorships in South America, with few exceptions, but that certainly would be lost on some individuals, the very ones I was...

"Na-zis" was the censored word. Well, talk about duplicity....

I am shocked at the utter hypocrisy and duplicity so amply displayed here by certain devout Catholics. You're no better than apologists for the ****s, and your church ought to be disbanded and prosecuted under RICO statutes.

This is an active, open, current case, and certainly quite a lot of people do care enough to see it through. Otherwise, it would indeed have been forgotten a long time ago. So it should be understood that you're one of those who does not actually care. Fine. Now please do tell, did you personally care about the subject up to some point, but then somehow stopped caring, or is it rather true that you never cared in the first place? In the latter case, why did you even bother to post any comments on the topic, never mind such a prolific stream?

Read my previous posts. My interest in the case, as you put it, is that all this is for you to attack the Catholic church. No one will ever convince me that beternnun, or you, care about anything but that. There are plenty of open, active cases that should be addressed, but again, you choose one over 55 years old so you can dig at the Catholics. It's ridiculous. Again, go back and read ALL my posts on the subject.

How funny. Nothing says ridiculousness like digging up a 55 year old murder case to use to attack the Catholic church.

So it's actually the latter. You're not here to talk about justice for Irene Garza and her family. You do not care about that, but care enough to attack those who do.  And, needless to say, you and your ilk are not doing the Church any favors.

And you don't care about a 55+ year old case either. You're just here to attack the Catholic Church. You aren't doing anyone a favor either.  Her family? Are any of them still alive? She was dust before I was born.

You've been at this one topic for years connie condumb,
What someone may not care about is your extreme prejudice
and hate, which I'm glad to see it's tearing you apart.
You obsess over what isn't your concern, but more of a
concern of God. You and your god complex has struck,
I'm sure, a concern with the real God and not the one
you believe you control. What a freak loser you are.....

Ouch, get ArtB a bucket of ice to sit in! He just got a bad a** burn!

A conviction that should have happened a long time ago but he was shielded by people that should have revealed him then.  Now you have so many more people affected and involved as this murderer has married and has children and grandchildren who themselves are innocent and have to come to grips with what this man had done so many years ago.  I don't know if this will finally be an end for the family for even though he has been convicted they will live with the knowledge that he got away with it for all those years and lived a rather, seemingly, normal life.
