from this man? He is Ben Suarez, the filthy rich CEO of Suarez Industries, the company that markets the so-called "Amish heaters" and other over-hyped, overpriced junk. Those who find my "Amish heater" critiques amusing might want to take seriously the history of deception and fraud established over the years by this lowlife. He and the Chief Financial Officer of his company are in big trouble with the law.His sorry butt is now in prison for violating campaign finance laws.Read about it here, from the Cleveland Plain Dealer (first link; second link describes multiple misdeeds of this "Mail-order Machiavelli, as he was called by Newsweek Magazine a while back).

CLEVELAND, Ohio – Ben Suarez, the North Canton direct mail multimillionaire convicted in connection with a campaign finance scheme, reported to a West Virginia federal prison Friday afternoon.
Suarez, 73, is expected to serve at least part of his 15-month sentence at a medium-security prison in Glenville, according to Federal Bureau of Prisons spokesman Chris Burke. He arrived at about 3 p.m.
Suarez was convicted of witness tamperingbut acquitted of charges brought by prosecutors who alleged that he was part of a plot to secretly provide $200,000 in campaign contributions to U.S. Rep Jim Renacci, R-Wadsworth, and Ohio Treasurer Josh Mandel in 2011 and 2012.
Despite the lesser conviction, U.S. District Judge Patricia Gaughan sentenced Suarez to prison. The federal Bureau of Prisons originally ordered Suarez to report to its facility in Morgantown, West Virginia.
Suarez has made several last-minute attempts either stay or postpone serving his prison time. The 6th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals concluded Tuesday that he not did not overcome the burden placed by federal law that would allow him to stay out pending appeal.
Suarez's attorneys also filed a motion filed Friday to delay his incarceration because his doctor found on Thursday that Suarez's blood pressure was high and that he was "concerned that the stress of [Mr. Suarez's] present legal situation of impending incarceration will only aggravate his symptoms and subject him to substantial risk."
That motion was promptly rejected by Gaughan.
