Thats funny. Where have you been for the last 60 years? The USA has seen a lot of progress during that time, and LGBT is no longer an issue in most of America. AlObama is always last in everything, though.

First I'm not homophobic. IF you want to be so PC you can't even have a discussion have at it. I posted that it would depend on more than them being gay. Translation for the reading comprehension impaired: I wouldn't vote for them simply because they were gay, or to make some sort of statement. I'd have to agree with their political views.
A gay/lesbian candidate would mess up the current mindset of the politicos. There are only about 7 states in play in any election, and they are the ones that do the deciding. AlObama will be electing the Repub candidate in 2012, no matter who is running. OBama will spend even less money in AlObama than he did last cycle, if that is even possible, even though he is planning on spending $1billion on his campaign.
This question is flawed to begin with, given that it used an offensive term.

And it needs nuancing.

First off, I would not make sexual orientation (other than pedophilia or sexual violence) to be a factor in my voting choice.

It would be whether or not the candidate's views are those I'm comfortable with, or not.

As far as I'm concerned, who, how, and how often he or she goes to bed with is his business only.
Would I vote for a queer for president? Only if he promises to wear skinny jeans and blast this out of the speakers in the West Wing while foreign dignitaries are visiting the White House. Roll Eyes

Some of you have got to get over your hang-up about homosexuals. There are more "out" there than you think.

J. Edgar Hoover's door was supposedly caught swinging both ways, and the actor who played Grandpa Walton from The Waltons (Will Geer) even played for both teams. Geer was a liberal and a social activist, and I've read numerous times that he had an affair with gay activist Harry Hay in the 1930s. As an aside, Geer obtained a master's degree in Botany from the University of Chicago (bet you didn't know that). Big Grin

The point is, as someone said earlier, we've probably already had a gay president - or at least a bisexual one. You're not going to stop people from being gay because gay people have been around forever. And the fact that we're still deciding whether or not gays should have the right to serve in the military is ridiculous. Anyone who wants to fight for this country should have the right to do so, regardless of sexual orientation.

From what I have heard, J Edgar was not bi, he was completely homosexual. Carried his boyfriend around with him in his limo.

You are a pitiful slave to stereotyping. I would never vote for some sleazy porn star--no more than I would vote for a ditzy former Governor of Alaska and you can bet that butt of yours that you seem so fixated on that I would NEVER in a million eons vote for Palin.

Christianity may teach that homosexuality is immoral, but Christ never said anything about it. Christianity teaches a lot that Christ wouldn't approve of. Many Christians, and a few on here, are embarrassing to him.

Really? Next time you're having a dialog, ask Him what he thinks about Steven Tyler replacing Simon Cowell on "American Idol". Since I don't watch, I can't possibly make divination and claim to speak for Him. Although that never seems to be an obstacle for so many folks. Wink

I agree with Jennifer. Further, I hold the opinion that "Political correctness" is vile. It is an attempt to control others by those who think they have a right to NOT be offended, or have their feelings hurt. The use of coercion and legal contortions is nothing more than an assault on individuality and a precursor to having "thought police". The "useful idiots" have been working on this for a long time.

Giot news for you, Ms. Proudbutt--

I am as straight as they come and I know lots of decent straight men who would have nothing to do with any porn star. Maybe the crowd you run with are depraved libertines and you are over-relating to that scuzzy corner of sub-humanity.

"Goit" news for me have you? You're as straight as they come huh? LOL! Oh come on now Mr. Fancypants. I don't "run" with anyone sissypoo. You have friends? Now why don't I believe that? Go do your nails and calm down. "Goit" that?

Yours is by far the most comprehensibly reasonable analysis.

Maybe lingerie headgear helps you think clearly.
