About 9:05, the air evac was at a wreck on Nathan Blvd. I saw only one vehicle, but there were two fire trucks, two ambulances, and six Sheffield police vehicles, plus the helicopter. I had a good friend killed in the exact location several years ago--I hope the victims are not as badly injured as it appeared.

DEL.ICIO.US DE.LIRIO.US FARK FURL REDDIT TECHNORATI YAHOO MY WEB SHEFFIELD – A pedestrian has been struck tonight as he was attempting to cross Nathan Boulevard and has been flown to Huntsville Hospital for treatment.

Authorities are still at the scene trying to identify the man and to piece together what led to the accident.

Rescue workers were called to the scene at about 9 p.m.. The man was struck as he was crossing Nathan Boulevard in the area between Cajun’s Restaurant and Kangaroo Convenience Store, said Sheffield Police Chief Greg Ray.

He was flown from the scene to Huntsville by Air Evac.

Two people in the vehicle that struck the man were injured by shattered glass from the vehicle’s windshield. Rescue workers at the scene said it is believed the vehicle was traveling north on Nathan Boulevard when the accident occurred.

Ray said the man’s condition appears to be serious.

Jackson Hwy. ends at the TVA intersection. The road then becomes Nathan Blvd. until it ends at the south end of the bridge. I can see how this is confusing, just like Mitchell Blvd. on the north end, to those who aren't natives.
I see people running across the street to McD's and Kangaroo a lot from the area of Websters. I think it was two weeks ago Sunday that I saw about 75-100 young men and a couple of coaches (it was obviously some sort of athletic team from out of town) running back across Jackson from McD's to Websters. I don't think people realize how dangerous it is trying to cross there on foot.
