I think you are the one who dug themselve into a hole. And since you like this little game with words and letters so much, why don't you see if you can figure out what I mean by this?

You can reach and stretch as far as you want, but when's the last time you said "I copped a burger at McDonald's" when you were talking about buying one? Roll Eyes

You need to go somewhere and "cop a life" if all the hell you got to worry about is the correct usage for the word "copped."

Yes, you did FNS2LT and I appreciate it. They come out late at night they say, the freaks you know. Sometimes they even manage to find a computer to play with.

It seems like we may be dealing with such a case with Duncan. Confused

Too bad words don't mean what you want them to, isn't it? I don't know how hip that terminology is when you consider that it originated around the turn of the 18th century. Try using a dictionary when you don't know the correct usage of a word. Dictionaries are hip. All the cool kids use them! Here's one online in case you don't have your own at home. Link

According to dictionary.com, it also means to grab, gain or win. So, If you work at McD's and "cop" a burger, it means you grabbed or gained a burger as much as it means you stole one. I love it when a know-it-all comes off looking like a dunce.

Can't you click a simple link? If you can, look for the primary definition.

cop1  /kɒp/ Show Spelled Pronunciation [kop] Show IPA
–verb (used with object), copped, cop⋅ping. Informal. 1. to catch; nab.
2. to steal; filch.
3. to buy (narcotics).

I won't stoop to your level of name calling.

How about 'filch'? That's a good word.

I wish I had of seen this hungry soul BEFORE they were caught and I would have paid for it, they must have been very hungry.

If I was hungry, didn't have the money, and was in a convenience store, a peach Nehi and a corn dog would be just about right. I'd add a Twinky for dessert.

Now here is what I don't understand, also stolen:
A 1993 red Chevrolet Lumina was taken from a residence in the 500 block of Campbell Street.

If I'm going to steal a car, it ain't gonna be no Lumina. Eeker
