Here's a YUMMY keeper!

Ummmm..... yummy!

It's all Light-n-Creamy!

And, it's beautifully cream colored, not too heavy... and can be enjoyed hot or cold!

That's right!

I'm talking about EGG NOG!

I made some this evening, and if you've not had fresh, home-made egg nog, you simply don't know what you're missing!

If some of you are handy with an electric mixer and can separate eggs, you'll do quite well.

Here's the recipe:

6 eggs
1t vanilla
1/2 c sugar (brown or white)
2c milk
1c heavy cream
1c rum
1/2 c bourbon
cinnamon
allspice
mace
nutmeg

1. Separate the yolks & eggs, beat yolks in 1/2 c sugar, stirring in milk, vanilla & liquor - chill

2. Beat egg whites to soft peaks, add 1/2 c sugar, beat to stiff peaks

3. Whip cream & add to whites

4. Fold yolks in 3
(spices may be added to step 1. or sprinkled on top each cup)

Serve cold or hot.

Approximate proof = 20, i.e. 10% ETOH

Russian Tea

Ingredients:
1 gallon water
15 whole cloves
6 cinnamon sticks
4 tea bags
2 cups Orange juice
2 cups Pineapple juice
1 cup Lemon juice
2 cups Sugar

Directions:

In a large pot, boil water with cloves and cinnamon rapidly for 20 minutes. Remove from heat, cover, and add 4 tea bags, and let "steep" for at least 4 hours. (we like to let it steep overnight).

After "steeping" is complete, in another pan combine juices and sugar. Heat gently, stirring to melt and mix sugar. Drain "solids" from tea mixture.

Combine all together and heat to enjoy.

This recipe serves/makes 1.25 gallon
